QUOTE [2011.08.22] Girls' Generation's Concert DVD Reaches No.1 Spot in Japan Aug 22 2011 11:04 AM | Procrastinatoress in News ![]() ![]() In August, 2010, Girls’ Generation broke records in Japan with the release of their DVD, “New Beginning of Girls’ Generation”. It reached the 3rd and 4th spots on the Oricon weekly music DVD ranking and the weekly DVD ranking respectively, making them the first female k-pop group to enter the Oricon DVD Top-5 ranking. But a year later, Girls’ Generation have surpassed themselves, proving their popularity in the Japanese music industry once again. Tower Records’ newly released ranking of the week’s sales show that Girls’ Generation’s first concert DVD; “1st ASIA TOUR: Into The New World”, released on August 19th, has taken the top spot being the highest selling DVD between August 15-21st, despite being released more than halfway through the week. The concert DVD shows footage of the performances from Girls’ Generation’s Korean encore concert in February 2010 in Seoul, and has been long anticipated and has already proven to be explosively popular amongst Korean and international fans. At the other side of Japan,
QUOTE Japanese Anti-Hallyu Protests Continue MBC’s “Current Events Magazine 2580” had a press release about the anti-hallyu (Anti-Korean Wave) protests that appear to be increasing. On the episode that featured the anti-hallyu protests that was broadcast on August 21st, K-Pop’s popularity and also its anti-movement were shown. The episode showed many protestors saying extremely critical things about Korean celebrities. One protestor was shown with a microphone saying, “Don’t force anti-hallyu on us Fuji TV, I don’t want to watch Korean dramas.” Other protestors were shown screaming “Hurrah to the Japanese Emperor,” also people were saying “Amongst the people passing by we can even see the face of some Josen-jin.” (Josen-jin is a derogatory word that the Japanese use to describe Koreans.) Also, some protestors were screaming insults at celebrities, “Let’s get rid of the Cockroaches SNSD, KARA, and DBSK. Do you think ‘Winter Sonata’ is fun? Choi Ji Woo is a thirty year old ajumma. Does it make sense that an ajumma is wearing a school uniform?” Korean viewers have commented, “Neo Japanese Nationalists are using anti-hallyu in order to reach towards the Dokdo controversy. I’m at a loss of words,” “their toothless criticism is low-class,” “I can’t believe they actually called celebrities cockroaches. One Japanese professor on the show had stated, “I believe that the reason these protests are occurring is because the neo Japanese nationalists unhappy about Japan are just targeting hallyu. For Korea the best way to proceed is to ignore the protests.” Added on August 22, 2011, 7:58 pmNice sig btw Zidane. This post has been edited by abang brother: Aug 22 2011, 07:58 PM |

QUOTE(abang brother @ Aug 22 2011, 07:57 PM) Seems like 21st century people are getting more stupid, as accepting another kind of music genre is kind of hard for them and protesting things about music it's really are stupid. It's music, why don't they just sit down and enjoy the music? Spend time listening to their own music rather than just hating.and okay, thanks. |

Bekos I riek.
If you look at the whole world right now, if there is music that person don't like.. that person will just can't stop dissing that artist. Just like Justin Bieber and many artistes. Some said old music are good, but they don't realize that there are many young ones do likes today's music. |
