A shop quoted me RM70 for an aquarium, filter, plant+sand set. Each fish would cost RM1.50.
Good deal?
Or maybe you guys got any suggestion for other types of fish? I like colourful glowing type
Planted Aquarium V7, not just fish with water anymore

QUOTE(kelvin8810 @ Oct 13 2011, 03:06 PM) how big is the tank? i think is not bad for a starter. i suggest you pick cardinal tetra over neon if you like glowing tetra but its more pricy, say bout 2.5-3 each depends on size. RM80 which is bigger than the RM70 aquarium tank is something like this:![]() The pet shop near my house is quite small, only has 1 type of glowing tetra I think. Any place to recommend in KL? Because I think it's a little pricey here |

QUOTE(kelvin8810 @ Oct 13 2011, 03:35 PM) if RM80 this size with the substrate and light is quite worth it, livestock can choose , prepare another 100 for it (plants + fishes). most pet store sells neon tetra from rm1 to rm1.5, cardinal u have to go to some bigger shop to get, i am not familiar with KL, but in cheras i can suggest some place to you. Actually it's RM80 for the aquarium, light, filter, sand and plant(nt sure which type)Currently looking at cardinal tetra as it's nicer because of the longer glowing strip. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2055837&hl= This seller quoted me RM3.50 per cadinal tetra |

QUOTE(ciohbu @ Oct 14 2011, 02:35 AM) kinda standard price.. rm3.5 for cardinal.. Cycle the tank?pls cycle ur tank properly first b4 buying fish, cardinal tetra can be very fragile as all of them are wild caught and ship around the world..unlike neon also u need to acclimate them slowly when adding them to tank correct me if i am wrong bout the wild caught part Btw, last time when I reared fish when I was small. I used to have plants living in the small aquarium where my small fish was eating on the roots. Maybe something like this? http://www.tropica.com/images/uploads/Akvarel/024.jpg I remembered I didn't have to feed the fish at all, for like months? Because the fish would eat off the roots. Any idea what is it and is it recommended? |

I checked a pet shop in Mid Valley (highest floor) and there's one aquarium 30x17x20 including filter and light costing RM88. Brand is Ocean Free. Worth while?
Btw, my first time getting fish so you all think I should get real or fake plants? |

Is it possible to just use any container at home and use it as a aquarium?
I mean without the filter and all... maybe to rear tetra fish. Do enlighten me! Reason: Just to see how's my initial interest is like... if more interested, then I'd get a proper aquarium+light+filter This post has been edited by -kytz-: Oct 17 2011, 11:52 AM |

QUOTE(Newgen @ Oct 17 2011, 12:16 PM) Get a small aquarium set. Most shops have that kind of offer set starter kit. Can get the whole thing for less than RM80. I saw some shops even selling it at RM50. Fish keeping require a decent filter to circulate the water and clean the fish waste. How about I change water everyday? You would'nt want to live in a toilet too, right? |
