QUOTE(sudosandwich @ Nov 3 2011, 06:40 PM) hob 500l/h the 5 powders are not necessary, but u hv to pay for your patience black color soil bought loose from lfs, dont know the brand didnt use the 5 elements jbl ferropol fertilizer since i re-use the soil, i figure i can just top up new soil on top. is the 5 elements necessary? they're so expensive. since u r on tight budget, y dont u try the low tech first with undemanding plants... if u want i can donate some plants to bring up ur excitement.... |

QUOTE(turtles_inc @ Nov 4 2011, 12:35 AM) by using the method...mixing the 5 elements with aquarium water and shake well, pouring the mixture into water...will it in someway affect the fish or shrimps? u dont need all 5, mix of any 3 might be enoughis it recommended, eventhou you have added these 5 elements in your initial setup? no harm to fauna we also use this trick in live tank competition penac p & tourm more for underneath stuff This post has been edited by sisaiko: Nov 4 2011, 07:34 AM |

QUOTE(leggedy @ Nov 12 2011, 11:38 AM) hey folks! cryptocoryne familyI dont do planted tank, but erm, i would like to get advise from u guys about getting plants that are similar to anubias or maybe anubias family that are able to : - grow their root in sands - roots submerse in water while stem and leaf are above water - if possible mininal sunlight required - preferable wont grow taller than 10 inches - effective in absorbing nitrates - hardy - can withstand pH level of 6 - 7.5 my purpose of the plant is to absorb nitrate as effective as possible.. Some people recommend me pandan leaf..while i am currently testing with some anubias..seems to work fine, but they tend to grow pretty tall.. Any advise and comment are much appreciated! Cheers mate! buceplandra family aroid family This post has been edited by sisaiko: Nov 12 2011, 05:38 PM |
