did you pour in water slowly?
did your filter outlet shooting directly to soil?
did you put 5elements on bottom?
otto seldom eat sinking pellets. i feed my shrimps with boiled cucumbers (timun). otto sometimes will stick on it.

in my opinion,
cories eat all the lefover food on the bottom, kinda like bottom tank cleaner or little army of vacuum machines~

otto took longer time to acclimate and easily stressed from transportation/journey and will only eat veggies laugh.gif
they are cute but not beautiful to me

i heard Siamese Algae Eater are the best, but they kinda like to jump and move fast, ideal for big tank and is not aggressive and will eat BBA.
while Flying Fox is slightly aggressive towards other species but more aggressive towards members of their own species.
and for False Siamese Algae Eater, they have a similar behavior with the flying foxes rclxub.gif

thanx to the sifus in here, i now know how to spot the difference tongue.gif

i agree cory is the bottom tank cleaner but they don't eat poo..they eat the leftover by other fish who can't feed in time so it's a good bottom dweller and cleaner
Not sure if any fish species/others eat fish poo at all, mostly they eat algae
also not sure if shrimp eat fish poo.. my feeder shrimp too show hiding under the rocks so I don't see them eating fish poo before
maybe best bet is go have good water pump and filter/cannister

my plecos has grown and if it eats a lot (algae and fish food), just seeing the long trail of its poo is so gross inside my tank!! arggghg eewww

how long do each of you spend in front of your tank everyday? smile.gif
i spent like around an hour a day if nothing to do and more on weekends. Well, if I'm busy then i just watch for a while when they're eating away

Err sifu, im in a dilemma...
my front tank is empty, so im looking for a suitable foreground plants? any suggestions?

*i dont care about the tedious trimming
i got sufficient light(i guess)
i will install co2 set when buying the plants
i will buy ferts when im starting to plant them
i prefer carpet type look, not grassy lalang type tongue.gif (but if cant, ill just take the lalang la..)
also, i dont have any soil in my tank, just small semi-fine gravel chunks.*

heard riccia, just need to tie on mesh or rocks? so it doesnt need those aqua soil to grow healthy? glosso,hc and those grass need soil right?

btw, no moss carpet plz if possible, still got a plastic container full of java moss.
tired of tepuk tepuk that moss everyday, to make them fluffy and dirt free

Those lalang i saw it in jalan pasar b4..like those grass beside road..haha..still the selling price is rm10-12.

get your co2 kit from weijie la~!good and nice seller.

since u plan to hv co2, u can try gloso but u must put iron inside the sand ADA multi bottom or BW boost A for instance
the thing is u hv to keep feed them with those irons time to time

most carpet plants need soil. if you using liquid nutrient to replace soil, it will burn a hole in your pocket in long run.

yes, riccia dont need any soil to grow.
yeps, you can tie them with mesh. and you would need to trim it every week, or soon they will be floating everywhere and growing everywhere (thats what happened to my tank currently)

Aluminum tank co2 finish very very fast. i strongly not recommend any ppl to use it.
My steel 6kg tank can last 8months, with 5bps 8hours daily.
