RM6 for the size of half pills plastic that we got from hospitals/clinics...previously using aquadine if not mistaken, green body, yellow cap. cloud my water easilly, now changed to spectrum, blue cap. not more cloudy water, but fish not eating 'em. |

QUOTE(DikkieD @ Dec 22 2011, 10:35 AM) Thanks for the replies! Greatly appreciated. better diy to change the bulb socket so that easier to maintain later on The main thing is; I need aquarium lights. I have a Fluval 3D tank, the light died on me. I want to replace it, but Fluval Malaysia is not responding to my calls/mails. I think buying a whole new tank to strip the lighting from it is a bit too much (plus, the tank is about RM400). They do not sell separate lights. All aquarium shops in KL used to sell the Fluval 3D Edge, but apparently not anymore. This is why I was looking into cheap and easy DIY, but of course only when it is with the same good effect as normal lighting. I also don't mind actual aquarium lamps, but the size of the hole directly in contact with open water is only 18,5x18,5x9cm (WxLxH). Any suggestions? |

My tank as at last night:
Size: 45cm x 25cm x 45cm cheapo tank Ph: 6.4 Nh: 0 Kh: 1 Gh: no test kit yet °C: 26°C-27°C Light: AquaZonic 2x16W Photo period: 9am-5pm Filter: Modified HOB filter with aquaclay At first this tank is only a dumping tank because suddenly a friend want to give discus fries so i need to clear up my 2ft setup for marimo... ![]() got time to relook at this tank over the weekend and here is the current setup... ![]() overall look of the small tank... the red led temperature reading is a thermostat. got this as i planned to diy cooler but seems like no thermostat is needed but i just use it for easier temp reading... ![]() My effort to cool down the tank... powered by pc power supply... before 29°C-30°C, after 26°C-27°C... do this because i plan to put in shrimps... aluminium heatsink is used bcos copper heatsink is bad for fauna... if i'm not mistaken aluminium is not harmful for ph above 5... correct me if i'm wrong... ![]() comments are welcomed  thanks to weijie for supplying stuffs... *also posted same as above in other forum, just sharing here... |
