Use valve no possibility it will burst? 1 more thing i believe u r not using normal mineral/drinking water bottle rite? Bcos i dont think that kind of bottle can sustain hot water...
*
most of the DIY are using water bottle, i dun think u pour in hot boiling water smile.gif warm water will be enough

pls note that if the pressure is not high enough, u can't diffuse ur DIY co2 thru any glass diffuser, atomizer no need to say d

happy DIY rclxms.gif

is ph5 dangerous for fish?
*
hmmmm.. not only for fish, certain beneficial bac will not survive if ph too high or too low smile.gif

just wondering what u have in ur tank ? causing the ph to be so low...

Malayan Soil is PH 5.0 too when it started off. I put a handful of Coral chips to buffer with pH.
Now my pH is around 6.5 when CO2 is running.
Gonna take out some of the coral chips this weekend and see what it's gonna be like.
CRS like 6.2 to 6.8 right ciohbu?
*
hmmm.. 6.2-6.8, some ok with ph 7.0

i would say GH is more important smile.gif

u say ur ph is 6.5 when running co2 ? however bout night time when its off ? ph will increase when u off co2, and plus u have coral chips

can somebody ID the plant A,B n C in my tank ?

my 10l tank. put some lava rock into the filter and replace the foreground rock with lava rock. Will check ph tonite. my tapwater PH is i think green = ph6.5

hmmm.. i not sure how lava rock gonna bring up ur PH, usually ppl use lava rock bcoz of they have a lot of surface area and perfect for beneficial bac to survive
unless ur lava rock is slight alkaline one smile.gif

pennywort is ok for shrimp smile.gif but not really a good carpet plants.. hahaa..

coz they like to grow with root out of the soil, but personally think that its a grow play ground for shrimplets, some ppl just let them float on top

with good condition, can grow quite fast...

Anyone knows where to get Cherry Red Shrimp and Siamese Algae Eater? been looking around from around Klang to Jalan Sungai Buloh but don't see any of the LFS selling...

Also anyone know how to remove the black looking algae that stick hard on the aquarium glass after few days of applying Iron supplement? it is driving me crazy... tried algae remover... but several ghost shrimp and chinese algae eater down might be due to algae poisoning.....
*
u from Klang ? try get from NA subang, AI near subang airport or u can order online from forumer in pet store section biggrin.gif

for your algae, try refer here, best if u can take some pics

BTW from eye view those are dark blue/ black/ dark green.... don't know how to describe.. just the color looks like chinese ink...
*
hmmm.. from the pics. its seems like some green spot algae or diatom

i feeding my fire red with that... hahaa..

hmmm.. black spot disease? heard that b4, some say it might be due to poor water condition where bacteria attack their shell, some say it might be due to sudden change it PH or GH, stress the shrimp
