Is there any hope to solve the N45 problem with updating the VGA driver?
If not do not waste my time
*
no. We updated to 280.26 which are not compatible with our VGA yet(but we modded the files to force it to work), still the same problem. Probably we need to wait nvidia to release another driver which works fine with our VGA

You can't output 3D since its using nVidia Optimus.

The problem is because the design.
You need nVidia to output the 3D while implementing nVidia Optimus, Intel HD would be the one outputting, so its a no go for 3D...

sometimes, i really prefer things without this intel HD graphic lol. I rather let it runs fully on dedicated gpu. I Don mind the battery life coz most of the time with the power cord.

I suggest Crucial M4 64GB or 128GB if you can afford it
If you can find it tell me because I could not find it in lowyat

bro u can try that one out.

So, sata 3 is basically like more future proof? X25m is sata 2 right?

X-25M is SATA2,
you would need Intel 510 for SATA3..
*
that one is more expensive.... is. Crucial c300 and m4 are sata 2? Is there anyway to check whether my laptop really supports sata 3? Well the chipset according to website do supports. but just wanna confirm...

Crucial C300/M4 is SATA 3, but most likely need import..
*
ic. then if wanna claim warranty then also problem@@. Coz i planning to change ODD to SSD. But then ODD there didn't have any vent. So if i change to SSD, would it possible it gets overheated? Coz its in an enclose space

Intel X-25M should be good enough for daily usage.
*
well ya coz not really sure our model truly supports sata 3 or not. Its stated there sustained writes speed is 75mb/s. So its like if u copy large size file the max speed it can go is like 75mb/s? And if i use this along with my 5400rpm hdd will the hdd slow down the performance of this ssd?

sorry i really noob in this >.<

HDD put on ODD, SSD put on HDD..
The ODD is most likely just SATA 2.
*
isn't hdd emit more heat than ssd?

what are IOPS for actually? i see X25M one is around 6.6k to 8.6k

i checked the hwinfo. Its written there sata 3gb/s for hdd and 1.5 gb/s for my ODD. Izzit other place to see whether it supports up to 6gb/s?

Yup, max copy from other ssd/hdd to your ssd would be 75MB/s.
Slow down would only happen when you are accessing files on the HDD..

4K random speed is more important since that's what we used daily..
It is.
*
so its like let's say we were to read or run something from hdd then it will slowed down to hdd's speed only? I thought the ssd can act as buffer for us to read the files or programme? wa i'm blur now rclxub.gif

So it would be better if we just put OS and programmes in SSD, then other files like music or videos we just put in hdd? If we read movies from hdd it buffers using the ssd or hdd? rclxub.gif

and regarding the hwinfo, i only see my hdd sata 3.0gb/s and odd 1.5gb/s

sorry about all these questions. I noob in this, and yet i would really like to find out to avoid buying the wrong thing
