Intro
For the people who is familiar with Internet, you no need to read this junk, go to the next section tongue.gif
The Mozilla TunberBird is an email client that work like the Microsoft Outlook but with more security and user friendly. The current version is 1.0.6 and 1.5 Beta 1. The popular webmail like Yahoo and Hotmail is free to use but for the people who own more than 2 email account will found out bothersome when checking email especially the one that own more than 2 account from different webmail. The webmail did provide the POP service but users will have to pay for it. However, there are a lot of freeware that can let the user access their webmail through email client without pay for it like FreePops, Mr.Postmen and many more. Currently, the popular Google Mail provide the POP service for free, but we do not know will it be free still when the final version is out(currently still on beta phrase), like the Hotmail and Yahoo, they also let their user using the POP service for free before. This guide will teach you how to configure the Mozilla TunderBird to access the webmail.

Create an account for auto update the LUA file
First you have to download the TunderBird 1.0.6, FreePops 0.0.31, and the auto updater plugin for FreePops. You also can using the TunderBird 1.5 Beta 1, they are almost the same but i will teach using the 1.0.6 version. You can get the download link at the bottom of this guide.

From now on, I will guide you how to create an account for update the plugin for the FreePops first, so be patient. This is necessary for ensure it work and for future eazy update.
1. Install Tunderbird and FreePops to the place you want.
2. Extract the "auto updater plugin for FreePops" and place all the extracted file in to the "LUA" folder where you install the FreePops. Copy the "updater.lua" that you just extracted to the "LUA_UNOFFICIAL" folder too.
3. Open the FreePops, it will appear on the tray only and you no need to config it for now.
4. Open up TunderBird. An account wizard will pop up and ask you to create an account with 3 options to select, select for "Email account" and click next.
5. You will at the "Identity" page. The first text box require your name, for now you just enter any name you want. The second text box require your "reply to" email address. Enter any thing you want for now. Click next when finish.
6. Now you are at the "Server Informtion" page. Select "POP". At the "Incoming Server", type "127.0.0.1". Untick the "Use Global Inbox". For the outgoing server, type in "smtp.streamyx.com" or the example there "smtp.example.net", you can change this later so type whatever for now. Click next.
7. You are now at the "User Name" page. At the "Incoming User Name" and "Outgoing User Name", type in "x@updater", they are same. Click next.
8. At the "Account Name" page, you need to type in the name you want to display in the Tunderbird account list. For now i suggest you type in "LUA Updater", since this account is not to retrieve email but the update LUA file for FreePops. You can get the link to at the bottom if you want to know more about LUA file. Click next.
9. Wow, now is the final step. Untick the "Download message now" and click finish.

Now, you will see the "LUA Updater" on the account list. Select "Tools > Account Setting...". On the pop up window, select "LUA Updater > Server Setting". See the "Port" text box ? Change it to "2000". Untick "Check for new messages every 10 minutes" and Tick the "Leave message on server". Click OK to close the window. Now Select the "LUA Updater" on the account list and click the "Get Mail" button, make sure you have open the FreePops. Type "x" for the password when pop up. If you set up correctly then you will see it download the message, you no need to do anything, just wait for it to finish then it will auto update the file for FreePops. There are total 21 messages to download at the time im writing this guide. If you got the message then congratulation.

Create your email account
Actually this is almost same with the step above. I will use picture to expain it. The picture guide is a .exe file, double click it to view. Press the right mouse button to view next picture, left mouse button to previous and "ESC" on keyboard will exit. Scan all the downloaded file before you use it!!. Get it from the link bottom. If you want to create the Google Mail account then go to the bottom and click the link name "Google Mail Config", this is offically write by Google. The link at the bottom also include an extension that allow the TunderBird to minimize to tray, ensure that you download the right version for your TunderBird.
EDIT 07/10/05 : You cannot check for custom folder for Hotmail at the moment, i will update again when this is possible.

[b]Send email via Streamyx SMTP
You can only receive your email from Yahoo and Hotmail but you can not send email via them, if you want then you have to pay for their POP service. I know you do not want to pay, you still can send email using the SMTP provide by TMNet if you are using TMNet service like Stremyx, Hotspot, 1515 and other. Go to the link below to see the picture on how to set it up.
