ok, kies is really stupid... either that, or i'm just not smart enuff to know how to use it.

#1. after restarting notebook and phone, i finally got kies to detect my virgin phone (dang kies thats like 10-15secs to load).

#2. finally detects my phone and prompts for firmware...

#3. when i click update, the stupid kies downloads the firmware but in the process, disconnects my phone. so end up, after downloading firmware, no phone to update.

#4. kies now detects and connects my phone... and repeats #2 - #4.

i have a feeling flashing rom is easier than this....

No matter what your question is, the first page usually answers most of them.

S2 on a girl is good. I don't like girls who buy iPhones due to them being mainstream and in trend now.

If you don't intend to alter anything i.e: firmware/kernal/rooting; then its recommended you go for HTC phones. Their stock firmware is much better if compared to Samsung's. I for one can confirm this.

Buying it next month is not late but then the Q4 phones will start rolling out and you'll cry if there's a better deal for the same price. But the price of the S2 will definitely drop a little when they're launched so its worth the wait.

I bought it from SenQ. Took the last unit. Its still really hot. They still go out of stock two months after the initial launch

You're under which celco? how much u bought your s2?

23xx including 5 years warranty and 3 years 1:1 exchange with an S2 or phone of the same price(can top up if you want) if it spoils and the replacement parts are more than 80% of the phone's initial price.

The S-AMOLED+ screen itself is around 8xx or so I've heard

i successfully rooted and flashed custom kernel for my fren's incredible S and i must admit that sense 3.0 reli stolen my heart


it worth the money, but i dun think u can restrain urself long from flashing custom rom (unless u reli dunno and dunwan learn like my noob sis, and nobody can/wan help u). other than social hub and touchwiz, others are bloatware to me

and one more thing, my SGSII is still single, refuse to marry it with other blood sucking telco

to be honest, depending on ur usage n need then only choose to go for which telco. high usage on talktime n sms, go for celcom. if mainly for data purpose, take digi or even umobile prepaid. if both moderate usage, take maxis (beware of bill shock). jz my 2cents

I know how to flash and root + other things but I lazy do lolololololol.

i guess i can't ask you all since i think 90% here not using virgin sgs2 and not bothered with the official sme firmware, etc...

still... how to update the firmware? its now here... but kies seems to be going on an infinite loop...

* kies detect phone
* kies prompt and download firmware but disconnect my phone (even while cable is still plugged and phone din go into sleep mode)
* kies detects no phone and firmware update cancelled
* kies exits firmware update screen and detects phone (process repeats itself)

Is this upgrade stable ??

can la... my sgs2 still virgin... no mods, no root...

heck, to the point even the official firmware can't be updated... stupid kies!

try uninstall n reinstall ur kies including SGSII drivers, then restart ur comp and do it over again. if still no luck, go for odin

Its not even detecting my phone now . Its stuck at connecting

but i got into another problem after that... kies will discon itself while downloading firmware. so, when firmware download complete, it sees no phone to update... after firmware update window is closed, it detects the phone again... really stupid.

i'm gonna try uninstalling kies. and reinstalling it.

XXKH3 update makes my battery drain faster (tho initially i thought otherwise)
And i often having network error connecting to my home wifi.
Kies Air stop working (which is one of the feature i used the most in sgs2)
