As title, I'm really interested to know how much it would cost (tentatively, I know price varies greatly) to build your own house. This includes, but not limited to:

1) Cost to hire architect
2) Cost to hire workers to build house
3) Extras, for example plumbing guy, ect.

I have a home design that I really like that I haven't seen in Malaysia yet. Just want to know how much it would roughly cost me.

it depends on material of the house u are building. if using clay brick, a bit expensive than concrete brick. wooden house, much much more expensive. a lot of tempered glass, stainless steel, interior design. all of that reflects to the cost of the house. architecht fees are usually 5% of total building cost if i'm not mistaken. u can ask for quantity surveyor for psf rate of house at your area. psf rates differ according to which area u are building your house.

As a rule? Say in Klang Valley, total square foot of house is about 2000, 3 stories

is also depent on what kind of design and how the structure look like, square 1 sure very easy to do, but many diff anger or very special thing that take longer time and diff material also, since u say u NEVER see in malaysia. and of coz time frame also have to included getting approval from local govn. Since is special design, that will taking longer time or (money) to approve.

So, hard to say.

1) Land location = Labour cost
2) House Design + Build Up area
3) Material requirement

ANyhow, i guess no one will able to give you proper answer.

Once of my friend build he own Bungalow near Shah Alam, endup almost 800K for structure excluded funiture.
