Help!! My hedgehog has its skin peeling off at the tail section, after we took him for a bath. When he curled up, we notice the tail section is going to come off. Do you know what's wrong. He is a 10 month old Albino. Is there any vet I can bring him to in PJ area. Thanks in advance!

QUOTE(WhyNotYouTeachMe @ Sep 1 2014, 08:34 PM) what did u bath him with? Bathe him with normal water. The yellow stains are medicine that I can get hold of as of yesterday. Went to Pets Wonderland last night to get some Nano spray that was recommended. Kills bacteria and fungi etc! In the morning, all the skin+quills came off. The right "butt cheek" is bald now but can see a couple of new quills are growing again. But still worried!

Lots of shops when I tell them it's for my hedgehog,... they'll reply "Hedgehogs don't need a wheel"!!!

Just an update on my Hedgie, After self medicating the skin problem for 10 days, spikes grew back but the skin still rough. So we decided to send him to a vet (Taman Megah, PJ).
Turns out to be mites infestation, the vet gave an injection plus some anti-mite spray and cage cleaner to take home. After 3 days, my hedgie got better. The rough skin came off day by day, and just after 5 days, all is normal again. Need to send him back for the 2nd injection end of this week to complete the regime.

QUOTE(yongann1701z @ Sep 23 2014, 06:48 PM) hey guys, my friend just gave me a hedgehog, after few weeks of care. i notice that it likes to scratch himself alot and when i look closer i found that there's a patches of dried skin look a like thing. look likes dandruff to me. any sifu want to ease me out? Exactly like what happened to mine (read my post, just recently). Mite infestation. Go see a vet for injection and then bathe him every 2-3 days to help soften the dry skin so that it'll chap off.

QUOTE(Xsence @ Sep 26 2014, 07:07 AM) [attachmentid=4148427] What you guys think about this? I think this one not suitable cos the holes on the bottom may hinder the hedgehog's movements. It should be flat floor! If can you can try to buy a Dog or Cat mobile cage. Less than RM100 at Ikano.
