Hi everyone. I'm new here and I got some questions about hedgies. I got one and his name is Mario. Hes about 3 months old now.

Where can I find stores that sells cheaper hedgehog stuff like the silent wheel other than pet shack?
And how do I make him chubbier because I think hes a lil small or skinny for his age?
And where can I find the nearest exotic animals vet?

Thanks!

Heres a photo of him biggrin.gif

i think the price for the wheel at almost all pet shops are almost the same. unless it's 2nd hand.u could find here in LYN pet store.

i think he's still a baby, so probably that his standard size.. i think laa... hmm.gif
btw it's not really good to make him sooo chubby. a little maybe..
just look at those tiny legs. it won't be able to handle the weight..  sweat.gif
anyway, once u get the wheel, he'll not be chubby, he'll be fit..  like mine.. dunno bout others..  whistling.gif

Thanks for the info. I'm just worried because to me he looks skinnier than other hedgies his age :\
What brand of food besides royal canin thats best for him? How about that 8 in 1 ultra diet for hedgehog meal thing?
How do I trim his nails? He keeps on moving about when I hold him despite the fact of the mealworms I bribe him with sweat.gif

Dont worry, my Leo also smaller in size compared tot he other hedgie at his age, hahha. O ya, about that, I DON'T recommend the 8 in 1 ultra diet, it made myboy choked and he has to vomit it out for 2 times  mad.gif so say NO to that. About the trimming nails, u can play wif his feet everyday until he is comfortable enough to let you touch his foot and trim the nails.  biggrin.gif

That bad huh? I'll keep on giving him RC then, thank you smile.gif
I think Mario is suffering from diarrhea lah now. Is there any vet in KL I can take him too that specializes in exotic animal care? I've been to some vets here in Melawati but they don't treat hedgehogs. Hmm worried sad.gif

U can find dr vellayan but he stays behind zoo Negara. He is very good with exotic pets. Other doctors I don't go and I definitely don't recommend pets and kennels policlinic at old klang road because they don't know how yo treat exotic animals but pretend that they do.

Would the charge for bringing the hedgehog for check up be super expensive? I mean since hes an exotic animal, would the charge for bringing him to see Dr Vellayan be more expensive than your cats and dogs?
