Hello! I need some advices here >.<

Okay, I am interested in getting one hedgie but a friend of mine asked if I would like to adopt a pair of hedgies (male salt&pepper and female albino). They're both 4 years old.

I dont have any experience on hedgie and I've always heard/read that hedgie is very solitary. She told me that the Albino girl is a lil mean.
She has been having em together in a cage since she got em but they never breed because the female hedgie doesnt allow the male to mount on her.

Here's the thing.

Should I adopt them?
If yes, should I separate them? Each in a bin cage.
I am a bit worried that I would have problem trying to tame them, especially when they're together in a cage. (As in trying to pick em up).
