@ddr3: She used her nose muzzle to knock down the detachable walls, did it for 3 days... and then i noticed she had a bump on the nose and I tried tightening the walls.
On the 4th day, she broke out again, and she scraped her nose... =_=''''

Quite serious... had some bleeding and white stuff at the nose... then at night, I place her in those carton boxes to prevent her from injuring herself again.
at least the injury dried up ... poor gal T.T

Ask a question here - y hedgie bite? apart from smell from your hand? any other reasons?

Leo nvr bite  biggrin.gif ppl but the new gal always wanna bit ppl, naughty gal  shakehead.gif

how to make her not to bite ppl?  hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
Same like my gal Cottie. Still biting me if i hold her too long. Violent lil girl.
I have no clue how to make her stop biting, but the methods they teach online (blow at the nose/push them back when biting/ask nicely to let go/etc etc) doesn't work and I had battle scars for that xD

but now if I want to put her on my lap, I would put my shirt and let her rest in it. She will start "digging" in the shirt and then rest ^^

I shower her, she kept struggling to come out. Then my finger go near.. *chomps*

Come to think of it, the first night I brought her back, she already bit my finger but it wasn't painful. More like tasting la... So I thought should be no problem
After that all the bites were violent ones liao ^^; nevertheless she is still cute

Yes she's still biting if I hold her too long. But other than that I will bring her out of her house at night and she will sleep beside me :love:

Ahh Leo looks so innocent ^^

What's your gal's name?

i heard that they can be potty trained. is this true?
and they dont have much fur right? cause im allergic to cats fur and always sneeze biggrin.gif
*
I tried potty training but it failed too. But ever since I let her in the playing ground in day time, and puts her back the Toyogo box with wood
Chips at night, she will now only poop and pee in the Toyogo box. Occasionally she will pee a little in the playground.

Regarding your previous question, it depends really I
Your hedgie's personality. My cottie is able to sleep beside me as long I bring her favorite tub along for her to climb into. But that's after I let her in many many times while playing on the pc or watching movie.

@ddr3: pinto boy Kirio.. Sighs.. Jumps as high as 2cm when my hand slowly approaches him.. ^^;

But I read here and somewhere else that grapes are toxic to small animals including hedgehog? Which one is true? And for the yogurt, can use the same yogurt we eat that sell in supermarket? Hedgies are lactose intolerant as well, right? So other than milk, what other things it cannot it? I thought all dairy things can't? That include eggs, yogurt, and cheese, right?[/quote]

I feel so paiseh asking again, do anyone know the answer to my question? sweat.gif blush.gif

I've seen a lot of warnings online about giving grapes so I didn't try giving my hedgies.

So far, cottie loves eating boiled chicken meat,
Insects, capsicum, nangka and some sweet tasting fruits.

I've given small pieces of hard boiled eggs to cottie but doesn't fancy much since egg don't have a strong smell. Cottie and Kirio loves the small yoghurt pieces I bought for them. Its the small packaging meant for giving hamsters and mice though ^^;

No worries Noobish smile.gif

@ddr3: oh ya about quilling.. Cottie doesn't shed much quills during her first stage and I barely notice any skin.. This time also doesn't seem to have any second round.... Yet

Hehe, u need to pay me $$$ for training fees leh  brows.gif . Just kidding lah. Okay no secret here, 1st the hedgie must be "super tame" and well bond with u. This female hedgie is very super tame, she never huff or poke me b4. Then u flip her over, of course she will struggle to flip back. Hold her gently, rub and massage her on the tummy and the "throat  / neck" part. If u ever own a cat or dog then u should know how enjoy they are when being massage on the "throat / neck" part. Slowly she will be like fall to sleep.

Oh chinti is in US... damn tedious procedure to import pet into malaysia lah, if can get the platinum color then that will be cool  brows.gif  But last time I've seen the price in web about $1K+ dollar. sweat.gif
*
Damn I also wanna go bond more with cottie redi.
When petting hedgies, do y'all pet their quills often?
Or like Nethelp says, turn them over and rub gently?

I also tried giving my hedgies two diff brands of food, I r EVo and one is GO. Evo have less fat whereas GO has more fat. But they all prefer EVo.
