When a hedgie runs around the cage in circles for long periods, it's telling you that it needs something to occupy itself with because it's bored (out of its mind).

Just put in a wheel or toilet paper roll. That should do the trick.

oh, thanks TeliLeti rclxms.gif encountered this situation with all ur hedgie before?

i think my Leo is normal, just that his gene is bad on its skin. I have both of them live under the same environment, Leo's skin will have many many flakes = dry skin and less quills cry.gif

while the gal eat same stuff as him, drinks same as him, kulit cantik berseri.... laugh.gif

maybe Leo knew about his bad gene, thats y dowan to have kids? shocking.gif

and 1 question, any1 heard hedgie making weird sound in their sleep, this is the third ime i heard, can actually describe the sound sweat.gif

wanna ask how is the condition of ingrown quill, any cure? search the internet but didnt mention in detail about it.... can you explain it to me? is it a normal condition and will heal it self??
*
ingrown quills ah? the hedgie will pluck it off by himself, coz its very very seriously uncomfortable. the quills is deformed, yellowish in color and the quill isnt normal. it can be break into half very very easily. i hope its normal condition but in my Leo case, it isnt i guess, it has sth to do with gene i guess. hedgie willl pluck it out by himself, and will heal. i mean the hole of the loss quill will bleed a little but it will heal in time, just like our scratch on our body.

Earlier today after posting here, I rubbed some olive oil on Sush because her skin looks dried.

Big mistake. She went very mad =[ She went biting herself and eating her own quills ><

Cleaned her with warm water lots of time, not working.

Spent hours calming her. In the end she stopped biting herself and now only normal scratching here and there but still refuses to let me touch her. One finger near her, she open her mouth wide ready to chop down my finger ><

This happened once, long time ago. That time I mixed baby oil with shampoo ~.~ The next day she went back to normal. So I hope it's the same for this time too.

Also googled about it. Apparently another owner also applied olive oil on her hedgie. Hers ended up like mine, behaving strangely(eating quills and biting itself etc) but also went back to normal after sometime.
*
the baby oil smells rite? i never tried on my gal, even after she batch she will be very very very mad at me for a few hours.... tongue.gif yeap, eating quills then annoint, this happens with my gal when she got Leo's quill in her place laugh.gif i was so scared that she will poke the quill in her mouth, luckily nth happened sweat.gif

I lost touch with the breeder right after I got my hedgehog from him. I tried searching him a month ago after I found out my hedgehog has WHS. I fed him medicine around 2.15 am this morning and he took it well. But a few minutes later, his mouth started gasping for air rapidly. From that moment, I knew that he will leave me anytime. When I woke up at 7.30 am, he was already gone.

Thank you all for your encourages.

my condolences cry.gif

I researched a bit online and I think it's wiser to avoid using Aloe Vera because certain parts are poisonous.
Why not use Burnol Antiseptic Cream? I checked the content before and used it on Pinto Boy's infected ingrown quills that I had to pull out after pus started forming.

The wounds healed up nicely.

U pull it out? how? shocking.gif pinto boy didnt scream or run away? i think i better leave it to my boy on how to deal with the quill, 2day morning spotted 2 more ingrown quills plucked out. any idea why is there so much ingrown quills? not enough vitamin?
