I got an offer with a singaporean co. but I will be working at bintan, indonesia. The downside is they are going to apply for me indonesia work visa. So I am not sure whether is a good offer or not?

They will pay me in SGD

Need 3rd party opinion...what do you think?

Since you'll be transferred to Indonesia, why would Singapore give you a work permit or PR?
*
Ya...Exactly I did not expect them to totally shift the operation to Bintan...so I wont be working at sg...oh well...Now I am rather worry on the income tax...hefty 5%-30% tax by the Indonesian Government on expat...I wonder those expat working at Bintan how do they survive there...5ksgd easily 30%!

I will be getting a manpower supply offer of one of the biggest o&g operators in Singapore. In terms of money and benefits, nothing much to rave about. Is it wise idea to get the offer, for the sake of hopping to be absorbed as permanent staffs? Besides, my resume value will increase as well if I am working as a Client.

Btw, is an engineering position and I have 2 years exp in oil and gas.

Any comments?

Just wondering is good to be manpower supply to Clients?Any contractual problems if you are supplied to clients and maybe you will manipulated by perm. staffs?

Anyone come across this case?

Dynamac isnt an OnG firm, more of specialised frabrication company. Like alpine engineering or some other third party outsource manpower company, your gonna get bullied by the owners (aka SBM, petrobas, exxonmobil, transocean and various shipyards where you will be working at).

Setsco inspection is somewhat similiar to my previous company where there offer professional inspection services which may entail ndt inspection, RA, visual inspection, tank inspection, corrosion inspection etc.

From personal experience, you gain alot more experience and expertise in an inspection services company since your not limited to just one method of inspection but the a plethora of inspection methods. Plus you get to meet with potential employers. Like how i got my current job was through working with them as a sub-contract inspector.

Anyway I chose EM over dynamac because of career prospect. I believe working as a Client even though is manpower supply is much better in terms of career progression and also experience gain. Both position I am interested in. Hope I am not making the wrong decision, fingers crossed.

Never heard of noble corp.

Anyway, I am excited to work for Exxon...just waiting for my EP to be approved...It will be a good head start for my career in Singapore. Hopefully after that can jump to better co. or even absorb into perm. staffs

Have you heard of LYN Big 4?
FYI, one of them is lurking in this thread and there is chances that you're hired by him. shocking.gif

p/s: Congrats on getting a job with EM.
*
Thank You...Just got lucky to be hired by them...Got lots offer from Technics, Dynamac, Takada, and few small cos, not easy to make the decision.

Btw, never heard of LYN Big4. What are they doing?Inspection as well?

Added on October 22, 2011, 8:10 amJust one last question, Is there any cases that EM discriminates contract or manpower supplied staffs? Will they draw border line eg. probably some activities or courses you cant join or maybe laptops will be given to perm. staff only...

Anyone come across this situation?
