Hi guys... Some off topics, maybe some of you can help me..

if people like us working in singapore wishes to apply for housing loan in malaysia, what would be the documents required?

I think some of you guys here should have some experience on this.

Thanks
*
just did my home loan in May 2011.

documents that i submitted.

IRAS form.. (the BA or smth like that, the doc that show how much tax u pay).
Letter from Employer (to show how long u have worked there)
IC (Malaysia IC)
Work Permit (I low Class worker, so no EP. IF got EP, show EP, If PR, show them ur Singapore IC)
3 months Bank statement (Singapore bank, the salary account statement)
3 months pay slip
FD in Malaysia or SG if you have any (i dun have, so din show), this is optional and it will increase the chances of the loan getting approve.

Added on August 31, 2011, 10:08 amOh ya, since we are talking about license and cars now.
I got to know from a Singaporean colleague that OPC (Off Peak Car/Red Plate car)'s insurance doesn't cover overseas. Please be careful if you are driving a OPC in Malaysia.

Uhm, means the earlier my SG license issuance date is, the lower my car insurance cost? If that's the case i might just get the "slip" from JPJ when i balik KK next month. JPJ KK should be ulu enough gua? hmm.gif
*
have u pass ur BTT? bare in mind if they really cancel ur license and u haven pass ur BTT, u can't drive coz u don't hold any license at that time.
I will be taking my BTT on the 15th Sept. hopefully can pass, then can proceed with the conversion d.

Since u guys is talking bout SG license conversion.

May I know what are the benefits of holding both SG & MY license at the same time despite even holding a single SG license is enough for you to drive in both Singapore & Malaysia already.

Why you guys afraid that after the extract is generated, your MY license will be revoked? since u guys will get your SG license anyway...

And holding both license means that you need to pay both countries license fees too... so, i cant brain this...
*
few factors.
1. with MY license, its easier for you to buy a Malaysia car.
2. when stopped by police, show them ur MY license, kopi money price will drop.
3. SG license have this stupid rules that when you reach a certain age (55 or 65 not very sure). u need to do eye test. if u fail, they revoke ur license.

its not good or bad. its actually a win - win situation for both....
u get less hassle to pay it in the police station, preserve a good driving record.
at the same time, help out our poor policemen a little because they are seriously underpaid.

u might see there is a lot bikes, but the Singapore kastam will close 1 car lane and open it for bikes to use. in the morning, the usual queue time is only around 10-20 mins (need to register for the Biometric thing, "BIKES"), I believe those that were on bus need to wait longer than us.

QUOTE(tayhaithian @ Sep 16 2011, 05:46 PM)
Once I saw when I'm on the bus to home after Singapore custom, those fella are not riding the bike but was pushing them instead. Seems like the queue is amaze !

going back also not that long. i left office around 6:15, will reach JB at 7 smth. and the queue starts on the BKE bridge.

hehe, i do travel everyday... if u ask me whether to stay in SG or JB, i will 120% say stay in JB and commute everyday by bike. the freedom, the lifestyle, the way people look at you in JB is so much different from inside SG. if u are a WP holder, SG ppl or even Malaysian working in SG (Mercury) will treat u like rubbish. But if you are working in SG and staying in JB, JB folks will respect you coz u manage to get into SG and work there. so in other words, u are more high krass than them.

If you willing to spare your friends/partner from siting next to you while you "learn" to drive, pay those instructor for a refresher course.

Else, say a prayer, turn the key and just drive around your familiar area first then slowly learn all the CTE, SLE BKE TPE etc.
If you start from Changi, drive pass CBD to TUAS, cross to Malaysia, go Bukit Indah, Pasir Gudang, Back to JB (edit: I forgot to add Petrol Station)  pass CAUSEWAY, woodland, take SLE,BKE, TPE to Punggul then back to Changi. DONE, you can finish your polishing in one day if you wish.

I guess driving it self is not hard, instead you need to learn the road in your area first then use map to explore further.

current Car price is double from the time I got mine  rclxub.gif
*
yup, car is freaking expensive now. to me, u don't have to travel all around the island la. just go to those places that u frequent. it would be good enough.
sooner or later u will know all the places in Singapore.

high class ppl like u should worry. low class WP worker like me got nothing to be afraid of.
Coz they can't dismiss ppl like us because they need us to run the business. but ppl that are highly paid. beware.

LTA

"Any work pass holder, who is neither a Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) nor a resident of Singapore, may drive a foreign-registered car and motorcycle in Singapore only if ALL these conditions are met:
a) he is the registered owner of the vehicle ;
b) he resides outside Singapore;
c) the vehicle is kept or used outside Singapore for a total period of 6 hours or more everyday ;
d) he has a valid insurance certificate and road tax for the use of the vehicle on Singapore roads ; and
e) the vehicle has an Autopass Card to validate its entry/exit at Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints and for payment of Vehicle Entry Permit/Toll charges.

Please note that a work pass holder who is also a SPR or resident of Singapore is not allowed to drive a foreign-registered vehicle in Singapore."

SG Mart

"You should convert your foreign driving licence to a local version within twelve months if you possess an Employment Pass / Student Pass / Dependent Pass / Work Permit and intend to remain and drive in Singapore for more than twelve months."
*
ur statement doesn't make sense. If you are a SPR, u won't be a workpass holder in the 1st place.
The rules is a workpass holder can drive a foreign car in Singapore but not SPR or SC. those that stay in JB can do that.
Regarding the 6 hour rule. there is a buffer on that. because they know sometimes people do travel into Singapore and fly off to another country from Changi and park their car/bike there.
There is a buffer period of 1 week. If you want to keep your car in Singapore more than 1 week. please declare it at LTA when u enter.
If less than 1 week, no nid to declare.

wtf... u are LYN big 4 still not satisfied ar?? who cares what qualification u have. as long as can earn enough $$ for living, that is most important.
btw, i always have this in my mind. dun compare with others. as long as you are comfortable, its good enough.
coz if you wanna compare, there are billions of ppl that are less fortunate than u. why upset just because u are not as good as that few that were above u?

It seems? LOL... Did I know you in person? What made you judged me that way? Did I say something like I'm reluctant to move out from my comfort zone? I cannot brain this, pls enlighten me.

So before you reached the stage of knowing anything, you open yourself to any challenges and learn it along the way right? When you do not know, you ask or research by your own, this is what I meant stay foolish, don't tell me you know everything inside out even when you were just a fresh grad?
*
to be frank, u stayed in ur current department for too long. through my 2 years in the company, i jump to 4 different role. that makes u learn more stuff and also know more about the company....... I agree that we must work hard to achieve a better life or pay. But don't push ur self too hard.
It makes your life miserable. I know it because i got a friend that is like that. keep pushing and pushing. say not good enough.
