wife at home just nice if they wanna cook and do house chores, does ur wife do that?

Nope, but I don't want my kids end up like what some of my school mate either. between constant complaining or decorated with criminal record, indigos prefer constant complaining

Like they say, nothing which is easy is ever worth doing.

Btw, get yourself a good pair of gloves and comfortable safety shoes. Coz unless your just supervising with a pen and paper on the site. You may need to climb and other physical activities which involves you using either your hands or your feet.

Its best to get the 2 items i mentioned since most subi's give crap gloves and even crap safety shoes which meet the company budget allowance rather then providing something good for their workers.

Certain shell contractors are given either kings or nitti safety shoes which are the equivalent of bangla footwear. Get yourself a better pair, they usually cost around $150 a pair for a decent brand.

I have the 2260's which i mainly use in the office or for meetings, i rarely use those on the field since red wings are very expensive to replace on a yearly basis. When im working, i usually use the jallate jalirok. Not as expensive as red wings and they get the job done.

Some of my colleagues personally like the timberland pro or CAT safety shoes but CAT's sole is so tough that it borders on being inflexible.
*
What's the price range jallate jalirok? Where to get it? Thanks!

QUOTE(r1v3r @ Nov 15 2011, 05:04 PM)
ok I am not accountant so this is just my idea,

say your monthly contribution is $1080 now (3k salary x 36%), by then end of 3 years should have about $40k in your CPF factor in  salary increment and possible bonus etc. Two person will have $80k.

say you can pay the 20% downpayment only with CPF without cash then you two can actually buy a under $400k hdb right?
One warning for you, make sure there will be no further "upgrading program" if you are buying an old flat. You will be surpise to know how much a PR have to pay for such upgrading.

Hold on to the removation to maintain your cash flow, simple repair and painting etc can DIY. Sometime the owner need extra time to move out, then you can try offering them to stay in your flat a few month in return for lower COV.

wah... yours is weekly pay or day rate?

Mine is so low sweat.gif  laugh.gif

I thought for cov we need to pay by cash, and is on top of the 20% loan amount down payment ?

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Nov 15 2011, 06:36 PM)

You do fit up work prior to welding?

You might want 2 upgrade yourself towards being a certified welder. When i was a "Subi", we had contract welders come to singapore from the states to do specialized precision welding and those guys and gals made around USD 200 upwards an hour for their services and it was money well spent for that particular application.

Or you could do Hyperbaric welding, you basically work around 4 hours-6 hours a day and get paid around 6k for a junior welder of that class and it just get higher depending on the welding requirements, location, depth and environmental conditions.

Actually am very interesting to join this line of work, but too bad am at a different industry, project engineer for process gas piping for semi cond industry, doesn't have the time to learn all this at all, plan to read up the ASMI B31.3 Process Piping but dunno is it useful or not.

Besides that my salary, I would say is overpaid compared to my technical knowledge, so kind of difficult to join oil and gas industry. Any advice?
