Hi,

I just bought 2 WW hamsters a few hours ago. When they were transported back in a plastic container, both of them were doing fine. I put them in a glass thank 2 ft by 1ft. There were doing fine initially but when both of them bump into each other, one will chase the other until the other is back into the hiding house.

So, one is always exploring and the other is always hiding in the house...

Is this temporary or it's time to split the tank into 2 parts with wire mesh, which they still can see and smell each other, for a while? Or let them both to settle it themselves?

hey guys, my winter white looks wet and it looks like some part of it's body lost fur. idk but her skin like red red. looks like she's been scratching. what do you think is the cause? and how do i solve it? i have applied sone ointment that my girlfriend got from the vet previously. her's was also losing fur due to scratching. im just wondering if my hamster is going through the same problem?

i'm sorry to hear that. but your hamster is really lucky to be able to have been in the hands of a wonderful owner. because from what i've heard, hamsters only live for around 2 years usually. right? correct me if i'm wrong.

anyway, my hamster is still quite young. i think maybe around 4-6 months max? so i really dont think she's getting all these from old age. i have applied the medicine called Fobancort ointment, which was given to my girlfriend by the vet.

after i applied the cream, the whole night last night my poor little hamster was so uncomfortable she kept trying to rub the cream off her body. i could see her scratching and cleaning herself and rubbing her skin against the wall. :\

everything in her cage that i have used right now, i have used for 2-3 weeks already. now only got problem. i usually have seen her sleeping on her pee. do you think it could be the cause? but i've gotten her for about 4-5 weeks now. and she always sleep on her pee.

yeah i guess i might. right now shes doing fine already. she dont try to get rid of the cream as much as yesterday already. i wanna ask, what kind of bedding do you guys use? i use mia bedding looks like those that they use for gerbils. i feel it could be uncomfortable for her. just wanna know what bedding you all use.

I separated them with a hard cardboard and apparently they managed to chew a hole    and now they both can go into each other's side via that hole. Luckily they have made peace and sleeping together nicely now  .

Any good hamster vet nearby puchong?? my hamster having sticky eye for few day... then I keep applying water with cotton stick to moisture it... but yesterday the eye gettin swollen n went st angel vet.. n the doc had no idea wats wrong with him n gave me eye drop and antibiotic

Hi, its been a few days since i bougt a pair of robos. But i still cant even get them onto my palm/pick them up . They just smell my finger and bite it. Just now i tried to lure them onto my palm by putting food but they bit my finger after they smell instead of getting onto my palm for the food and its bleeding  Sometimes they smell my finger and run. haizz. are they still scared to me? i dunno how to tame this very fast robos  need  Thanks

Hey starrynight, thanks for the advice. But actually I've had babies in my house maaaany times haha. When I have babies, giving away for adoption is the very last thing in my mind as I would want the whole family with me (in separated cages or not). So the purpose of me breeding is to continue down the generation so that I would be able to have the offspring of my first child when the ancestors pass on. Of course, this would happen only once for the mom, and breeding within a time interval of a year or 2. But they do have a period before they become barren right?
