Hello guys. Recently I just bought over roborovski from my friend since she doesn't want to keep it anymore. She's been feeding it with mix food and it seems that it doesn't eat the pellet at all. What should I do? I think for 1 year+ the hamster been eating that way. Also, my friend never try fed it with fresh fruits and veges, is it ok that I get something fresh to feed it? Ps: This is my first time having a hamster and I was so excited and bought a proper hamster cage for it previously it was kept in a small plastic fish tank

So I introduced my elder hamster and young hamster. At first they were "boxing" for awhile then the elder seems like backing off. The young 1 would sometimes "kiss" the elder then the elder will flip over. Both of them are in the new tank, the elder doesn't seem to be comfortable in there as he keep trying to escape, while the young is doing his own stuff(digging). I tried putting both of them in elder's cage and the young 1 took over his favourite hiding spot... What should I do next?

QUOTE(korgiforlite @ Sep 4 2014, 12:35 PM) then the elder seems would be stress. as long 1 flip over usually lose the fight lols. i think separate is best option. they not bite each other? Nope. I didn't see any biting, no funny noise made too. They're sleeping in their new container now. Both having their own coconut shell They share the same water and I put 2 wheels in. I will monitor them again once they wake up and see how things goes...

QUOTE(EternalC @ Sep 17 2014, 09:52 PM) true but can just suddenly change their home? Can change~ just put in the old bedding and mix with new 1. I'm using a bin cage now without cover, easy to clean and more space for my 2 hamsters to play around

QUOTE(wolve @ Sep 25 2014, 05:00 PM) I use dry pellet-type bedding. You can also try out pine pellet bedding that can be used for cats and small animals. Hmm... how about a paper based bedding? Kinda frustrated with the type of bedding that pet shop is having... too little choice.

QUOTE(raisedbywolves @ Sep 30 2014, 11:26 AM) I'm using this CareFresh brand (I think that's the name, has the word fresh in it) from Pets Lovers Centre, and they also have a VERY NICE confetti-multi-colored bedding, which I bought also but haven't use yet. The 2nd floor bedding is there, just place a thin layer on the wood, so he will not dig it, cos too little. The pink plastic thing below is his sandbox which he uses to do his digging, and sometimes peeing. Which PLC outlet did u get the CareFresh bedding? Because I've seen people said that Malaysia don't have that brand
