My dwarf hamsters just got into a fight.. The big bully the slightly smaller size... He got injured, some bleeding.. So I separate him...
This injured hamster had become very jumpy/nervous now, and looks frightened... When I put on my hand, he will bite me... He had never bite me before... When I touch him in the cage, he 'jumps' away, with some weird sound...
Is it cos he is too frightened? What can I do to make it back to normal? FYI, he is still eating like normal, and active in the small cage...
They have a territorial behavior. It is recommended to separate them. Mine also like this. at early stage, they are ok but when grown up, they started to fight. Best thing to do is to separate them. After setting up their new cage for each of them, just let them live and adopt with their new home. Then, you may start the process to tame the hammies again. Mine's work, they are happy in their respective home. This injured hamster had become very jumpy/nervous now, and looks frightened... When I put on my hand, he will bite me...
