No idea why my hamster likes to play with the bottle. Sometimes when I reach home from work the whole bottle of water is empty and all the beddings is wet @@ Anyway to prevent it? They seems to like to bite the bowl also, not sign of hungry right? Cause I feed 1 and half table spoon of food everyday, 2 winter white. age 1yr+

QUOTE(infernoaswen @ Mar 5 2013, 04:12 PM) are you sure they are playing with the water bottle? I once thought the same thing but then I found out my bottle water leaks due to different temps. In the afternoon I turn on the air con, then once the room is cold I turn it off. The water inside the bottle is still cold & the outside temp starts to increase. But then I notice it starts leaking slowly. Only happens when the liquid temps is different than the ambient temp. The bottle confirm not leaking. Wonder why, just occasion only. maybe weather is hot? Its a new bottle btw, bought from petsmore. Not gonna buy from there again, the bottle always stuck and no water coming out for no reason...poor hamster sometimes no water and I only notice it after I back from workAs for the bowl issue, probably they want to gawn their teeth. You need to provide them toys to grind their teeth to keep it short, throw in some apple wood or those wooden bridge toys. Just fill the bowl whenever it runs low maintaining fresh food everyday. Each hamster eat different amount depending on their age... |

QUOTE(*dReaM FaNtaSy* @ Jul 24 2013, 12:52 AM) those who wish to use wood shavings, please do not use wood shavings derived from cedar or pine.. instead opt for those derived from hard wood such as aspen. Where can I get those stuff? Cant seems to find it at pets wonderland. Anyway either my hamster really dont have any smell or i'm used to it...I have 3 cage in my room currently. 2 male cage + 1 female cage.also, whatever bedding you use.. please use unscented version.. scented ones are artificial and not good for your pet's health since your hamster only pees at a specific spot, buy a toilet (i.e. http://petshack.com.my/webshaper/store/vie...roductItem=402) and put it at that corner, fill it up with more absorbent type of litter, such as woody pet and just clean the toilet daily... woody pet are wood that are in pellet form, when it absorbs urine, it turn into flakes which you can sieve it out.. when choosing a toilet, corner units are preferred as hamsters like to reserve different corners, one of which for urinating.. i personally really like the corner toilet from habitrail my hamster is toilet trained and because of that, i can keep him in my room.. no smell at all! can buy online http://petshack.com.my/webshaper/store/vie...ProductItem=410 |

QUOTE(takkicom @ Jul 27 2013, 11:57 AM) i forgot what brand name, just you see is made from paper but shredded like cotton, then probably I cant use it. My hamsters are destroyer..they'll bite anything, and probably eat anythingtouch like cotton, less smell but if your hamster treat it as food, you cant use it. mine not treating as food but my friend hamster eat the paper as food. |

QUOTE(jeremysoon93 @ Jul 29 2013, 03:28 PM) Have you tried them? no no, not the grass. It's called wood pellet bedding. so far so good...just a bit noisy when they dig it. Personally felt it's much better than wood shavingsThey do look good and natural, but I'm just afraid some of those grass are very sharp. :/ |
