hacken: haha. yea. As soon as I applied the stripes, I was amazed how much different it looks!

lkwanz: Was planning to use the silver on red but then, decided would look better on black. hehe. The rear FERRARI is photo-etch. I got it from Marcus last time.

aquila: yea. One of the best but because CMC, apart from the Mclaren SLR, only does classic cars. That's why seldom see CMC models here.

Sorry, I'm still new in this and I've only seen the minichamps version on their online catalouge.

Quazacolt: Since im not into classics, as far as i know only minichamps got the most nice build quality of all brands that make 300SL. (I THINK). You can wait for Sky to reply you on this, since he is a merc enthusiast. But since you think minichamps are pricey to you, just get the bburago one. I thought most of the classic collectors like their models to be super detailed? icon_idea.gif

actually to be honest, thats what id prefer too, and the pricing differences isnt that huge. the biggest problem is that i want my model interior to be in white/biege/grey at least, and minichamps are having them red sad.gif

thanks for the reply. i think there are new minichamps preorder releasing on feb 2012 for the model im looking for, however, its at 120ish USD excluding shipping >_<

the details are indeed nice, however if i were to repaint the interior to white, ill need to do a LOT of touching up on the fine details as well, which is too much hassle for me, as opposed to say, buying a burago at much cheaper, and just respray the outer metal cast.

more room to f***up, and a lot lesser damage assuming you mess up the repainting process ^^;

yes exactly, hence if possible, i dont want to touch the interior at all, which means the white/grey ish interior from the burago 1/18 would be the most ideal. and less painful if i mess the whole thing up sweat.gif
