I have never had a credit card before
I do not have any outstanding loans at all (staying with parents)
I am trying to apply gold card (annual income requirement RM30k and above)
My annual gross income is around RM37k.
I have FD placement with the banks I am applying (more than RM30k)

Documents I provided to bank:
3 months latest salary slip
Increment and bonus letter
EPF statement
Bank account statement
I/C photocopy

Why is my application still rejected?
I really can't understand. vmad.gif

Any idea what went wrong?

No credit history, too perfect record = no good.
Sounds weird but thats their benchmark - credit history.

Anyway, they should give you the credit card. Try other banks as well.
I remember my 1st credit card was the hardest to approve although I was having gross income of more than double the required amount. In the end, I tried 5 banks. 2 approved. One year later, what bank also approve my credit card application.

Is my car loan considered credit history?
Does settling the loan early make my record too good? =,="

so far HLB & MBB rejected me.
CIMB also, but this maybe understandable cos I only provided 1 month salary slip

Hmm, Your application should easily be approved by the bank isn't it?
*
That's what I think but clearly is not the case here cry.gif

I'm just afraid there's fraud involved.
Maybe somehow, someone used my IC to apply for a loan. (which I do not know about)
And then, the bank saw that I have a big commitment, hence refuse to give me more credit.

Actually I don't need their credit sweat.gif
Just want the convenience of carrying less cash around icon_rolleyes.gif

NO.

people without credit history are bad deal for bank. even with healthy bank balance.

I have credit history.
I took car loan before.
But I settled it after 2 years.

Everyone starts off without any credit history anyway.
If because of this bank reject, then where does one begin?

if that so, you can request for your CCRIS from bank negara. just walk in with your IC, free of charge.

If you have the cash and need the convenience, why not just get a debit card instead?
*
I do have debit card but credit cards can collect points and accept internationally.
I do travel overseas sometimes for work.

QUOTE(cracksys @ Feb 3 2012, 03:07 PM)
one time visit only smile.gif you'll have complete history of credit and maybe, find out why your application are being rejected.

could be someone else using your details for loan. who knows.
*
Yup, have to do this la.
*fingers crossed* really hope no one using my details.

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Feb 3 2012, 03:12 PM)
What bank are u talking about anyway? And did u know if u failed application u need atleast 6 months to re-apply ?
*
HLB, MBB & CIMB.
I didn't know that!
But these are all first time applications.

QUOTE(maxforce @ Feb 3 2012, 03:25 PM)
Doubt that your details is being used.
If your car loan settled more than 12 months ago, you ll be deemed to have no credit history. Sad but true.
First credit card would be difficult but once you get it, then all banks will rush for your business. You can even not pay the gomen yearly tax and they ll pay for you WITHOUT deducting points.
Try all the banks. Surely, one will approve.
*
doh.gif my car loan settled more than 1 year ago la.
Aiyo, means I am deemed to not have any credit history.
Can any forumers here confirm this? Is it really like this?
