Today i went to OCBC branch and wanted to apply for credit card. OCBC nowadays is very advance, the customer service say that application for credit card at branch is very easy. Just need my original IC and insert to a machine, verify my thumbnail, key in my details and finally sign on it (use a stylus & sign at the machine) and then submitted it online to HQ. Within 3 minutes, you will receive a sms and inform you the result whether approved / under review / rejected. No more forms, photocopy IC and others type of supporting document needed. Of course the basic requirement is you must have one credit card more than a year and they don't ask the card for verify or photocopy it as they say they will know the record. I guess they review it with CCRIS online.

I ask the customer service and she say that they already started using this machine for almost 2 months at all OCBC branch.

Yes, even nowadays new terminal still able to reprint last transaction duplicate copy in case of no paper when half way printing. They is no limit to reprint duplicate copy, however all reprint copies comes with 'DUPLICATE' note at the bottom of the slip.

Depends case to case. Last week i walk in to OCBC to apply a cc by submitting it to an online computer (paperless). Five days later, i received a sms stated my application was approved and said i'll received the card within 7 days from the sms.

no call at all to verify...just only sms stated it's approved. very simple and no forms to be fill.

chances are very slim, because even my ccris all show 0000 in the whole record, some bank still reject my application.

UOB case:
i tried before call up uob to request permanent increase CL without submit any document after use the card for 18 mths. my wife tried before call up uob to upgrade her uob one plat to preferred plat without submit any document too.

Alliance Bank case:
apply for permanent increase CL by walk in, submit latest 6 mths bank statement for proof of income and was rejected even after use the card for 7 mths.

So, i believe it is depend on cases to cases because every bank has different policy. after all, if you really need a higher CL, why don't just give them a call to request increase CL whereby it cost you nothing...

i feel that you should try MBF or AEON credit card as these credit card issuer is not so strict for new applicant.
