QUOTE(hye @ May 28 2011, 11:43 PM) Just to add ... what you failed to understand if that you are thinking that all you need to do is to pay the minimum amount from your RM4K "loan" and count the interest based on that RM4K. Please note .... the moment you do this, your mum's card will lose the 20 interest free period and you are now paying interest for the entire amount used on you mum's card. (Interest now depends on how much have you spent on the card) Don't ^Listen to what everyone is telling you. Either ... 1. Do IPP 2. Do buy anything you cannot afford, period. Sound harsh but you'll thank us down the road. This post has been edited by Human Nature: May 28 2011, 11:53 PM |

Hi guys, I would like to ask a few things on pledging FD to secure credit card facilitities:
1. Is there any difference from the normal FD plan in terms the published interest rate? 2. Is there any deposit period that we have to adhere to, for example MUST be 60 months? 3. What happen to the card if we withdraw/close the FD account upon the maturity period? It will get withdrawn? 4. If I have deposited an amount that meets the minimum pledging amount say 1-2 months ago, can I request for the card facility now? Or it has to be processed at the same time as the deposit. Hope anyone with experience on this can provide some feedback. Thank you. |

QUOTE(milentechie @ Jun 2 2011, 11:58 AM) I just received a call claimed to be from Maybank, informing me that someone is using my card to charge 2K transaction for Takaful. He wanted to stop the transaction but need to verify my card number & expiry date for verification purpose. Then, asked me to give my card number & exipry date. They are aware that it is getting difficult to trick cardholders the usual way and now trying to exploit the panic nature of people.I called back MBB card CS to investigate. No such transaction ever recorded in their system. Please be alert of this fraud. |

When supplying salary slips as proof of income, do you blank out the EPF No and Bank Account No?
If the application form did not state how many months, will the latest month slip will do? Thanks |

QUOTE You pay RM200 on 30th May 2011. Which means you have outstanding Balance of RM9,500 not cleared and carried forward. I am not clear of the interests calculation either, but I believe there is a typo there. Pay RM500, right? Looking forward to this particular blog post |

Went to Papa John and when I reached home, found out that the cashier peeled the double sided tape used to conceal the 3-digits. I just paste it last night. I am getting paranoid with the recent case.

QUOTE(milentechie @ Jun 8 2011, 11:42 AM) WTA. If I erased the CVV from the card, is it still valid and accepted by merchants? i think it is still valid because they dont need the code for normal POS transaction. What is the best method to conceal it? erry has suggested one good method to conceal the cvc code in the maybankard forum. QUOTE(tanch78 @ Jun 14 2011, 07:50 PM) I simply don't understand why some of you need CL up till 50k / 100 CL. Have you ever ultilise 50% of it? I think it is RM250.Whenever I get a new credit card, I need to call up the bank to reduce my CL of 20% till 50% for certain card. And the customer service officer just stunned when I called to make the CL deduction request. I travel quite frequent, if my card being stolen and used to buy things. I will cry until no tears. But thank good. Now I now that my credit card liability due to fraud case is restricted to RM150. |

Could the scenario below take place?
QUOTE 1. A person submits a CC application through a third party agent or a bank staff who dealt with CC application (agent?). 2. The agent / bank staff ammended the application form before forwarding it to the processing department (address, phone no, signature). 3. The CC application gets approval by the processing department (innocent party), but mailed to the 'new' address'. 4. The signature and verification details have been changed, so getting authorization is easy (mother's maiden name, DOB, IC no etc). 5. The card can now be used for transactions and charged to the original person who may not even aware about it until it is too late (the name and IC no remains unchanged). An elaborate fraud scheme. |
