I just published My Credit Cards 100th Post - The Best Credit Cards in 2011 The contents have no new substance except me blah blah blah. I even wasted time designing the Ultimate Credit Card for the year of the dragon  smile.gif

I would like to thank you guys for using up your time to read my articles at my credit cards blog and pointing out the numerous errors and typos too.  Even though I may not reply your post, I do appreciate when you guys post here to mention that you found my articles interesting or informative or enjoy reading them. Come to think of it, a reader did comment my posting as a "service", which is in a way true because I started the blog 2 years ago because people keep asking the same questions here and with my articles I hope to provide the relevant answers they are looking for (but somehow always sidetrack, haha). Once again, thank you.

I still think black is a poor background color for loooong text. Other than that KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK !!!

QUOTE(ericwen @ Dec 13 2011, 08:43 AM)
hi everyone,

i notice the "Maybankard 2 Gold and Platinum Cards V2" thread is closed. So I guess will post here instead.

I just paid my recent credit card bills RM1,000.76 and it is showing as below:-

Minimum payment amount:
RM0.00
Outstanding balance:
RM0.00
Statement balance:
RM1,000.76

How come my statement balance is still RM1,000.76 and not ZERO? Before this it will always show ZERO when I clear my credit card? A bit confused.

Any help? Thanks.
*
As long as Outstanding Balance shows RM0.00 ... mean you don't owe the bank

just want to ask if anyone received the same SMS as me
*
Interesting SMS.... maybe it's a fake one until you call HLB to confirm it.

My boss tried to book me a hotel for my business trip, however, the transaction failed, for 3 times. So we decided to pay cash upon arrival. However, when the bill came, he found that he was charged for the failed transactions, 3 times, RM3K!! What should we do? I've talk to the hotel but they say there is no record of the credit card transaction or booking history!
*
Which hotel did you you book with ?
Was it thru 3rd party hotel booking website ?

So if I pay the bill next month, let say I took rm300 from cash advanced, next month the bill should be rm300 + 5% or rm300 + 18%? Which amount I should pay?
*
Eg. If you withdraw on 1 Jan 2012.
First will be charged 5% as Cash Advance Fee
Second 18% will be charged ON DAILY BASIS from 1 Jan 2012 until you pay the Cash Advance amount.

Don't be stupid to do Cash Advance from CC... if don't have no money, never buy the item with Cash Advance. vmad.gif mad.gif cool2.gif

Ha?? Not if I withdraw the money from 1 jan 2012, then my bill due date is 25 jan.. It will only count the 18% after 25 jan? Now is I took the money on 1 jan 2012, then the interest 18% will charge everyday from 1 jan 2012??
*
Yes... start charge from 1 Jan 2012... The banks earn $$$ and make you bankrupt !!!

But the bank told me 18% is per annum.. Wat is mean by per annum? If per annum not every month charge 1.5% meh?? Why now everyday charge 18%? I really dun understand now.
*
1.5% Per month x 12 = 18% per annum (aka 12 months)

In today's The Sun (Page 3)
Earn 8X TreatsPoints every weekend when you fill up at PETRONAS Service Stations or purchase groceries, with your PETRONAS Maybankard Visa or PETRONAs Ikhwan Visa.

Is this a new main feature for PETRONAS Maybankard Visa or PETRONAS Ikhwan Visa ?

Petronas Visa need to give 10X TreatsPoints to counter the 5% from these competitor CC.

Possibly higher CL due to your loan with Alliance (also the issuer of IKEA Visa Credit Card)

got such thing? I having a Housing Loan with OCBC if I apply for OCBC Titanum, I will get more CL compare to my other credit card?
*
It's a guess as the bank has more details of your Credit Exposure with their bank.
That's why banks always offer CC with home load/car loan without asking you.

If cash advance,  then it is ok with 18%interest. But above case is over paid rm1000. I just withdraw back my overpaid money, not advance bank money. So can argue with bank for term of 'cash advance '
*
What's the point of paying RM1000 into your credit Card to earn nothing in advance.
What are you trying to achieve ? You paid additional RM1000, and yet you want to take it back out as Cash Advance from Credit Card. Very naive indeed.
