You go start one lah. I can foresee that mostly the questions will be about annual fee waiver basing on previous posts here.

If only they would offer the CIMB Enrich World Mastercard to Preferred customers. Stringent vetting process still. Existing CIMB Enrich Platinum Mastercard with minimum spending of RM 500,000 per annum will be considered. Note "will be considered" meaning no assurance even if you do spend that much!

CIMB Enrich and RHB Visa Infinite are really exclusive cards for the filthy rich and or big spenders. And CIMB sent me sms on contest for ipad2 for what when they have Enrich members.

let's say the request for waiver is not granted and we decide to cancel the card. Do we still need to pay the AF?

Make sure you do not have outstanding balance after the anniversary date. For me, I would clear off my points and stop using the card one month before the anniversary date so that if I want to cancel the card, it can be done on the spot.

I just got my AMEX Gold Charged Card statement and they imposed GST. So called CS and told them that I cancelled it 2 months back but their system did not show. Anyway, the CS said will cancel the card again and reverse the GST charges.

That mean u're cancel 1st b4 impose on GST. It is safe, but how about charge then only cancel? Anyone experience before?

Yes I remember calling CS to cancel the card but thier system show otherwise.

If you use the card after anniversary date, then it is not fair that you ask for waiver if you terminate the card.

Same theory applied to annual fee? It is charge upfront. So can we terminate it after being charged if you're not consume anything using the card?
*
oh I get what you meant now by charge. I really blur doh.gif Last time for my Citibank Clear Card, I was charged GST then only I called Citibank to terminate and they reversed the GST because I did not use the card. However some banks will not entertain if you terminate the card after the anniversary date.

QUOTE(hye @ Jul 16 2011, 08:41 AM)
Just cancelled my Citibank card yesterday coz I don't think it's worthwhile to keep.

I was forwarded to the Card Cancellation and Retention Officer and of course the girl's job is to persuade me not to cancel the card. What were the topics of discussion ?

- PremierMiles card benefit.
- MAS discounts
- Platinum card features
- Points
- Exchange rate

Spent a good 30 minutes on the phone. The girl tried but was overwhelmed with my counter "discussion" especially of the various forex cc rates practiced by all banks. SCB being the highest and MBB being the lowest - everyone else falls in between. Points system also got a good lengthy discussion - I focused on Enrich points conversion and MBB 5x points system.

There were times she was  shocking.gif . I think bro MilesAndMore, Gen-X need to be hired by Citibank to revamp their promos. Then only their cards will fly again  wink.gif
*
hye, did they offer you annual fee waiver and GST? Reason I am asking is because my wife has the PremierMiles and come next year got to cancel if they not waiving annual fee. So I guess you fly with MA often.

By the way, I know nuts about AirMiles, Citibank should engage you to be their expert AirMiles CC consultant biggrin.gif

QUOTE(DM3 @ Jul 16 2011, 08:59 AM)
i guess since many ppl canceled their citibanks and with feed backs/reason of cancellation are that the other bank cards give better privileges ,
i do hope they'll improve it and counter most banks cards offers
*
Last year I cancelled my Citi Clear Card, they just said ok and did not even ask me why. I guess I am not a value customer to them.

So far the only bank that have called my office was OCBC when I applied for the TMC as they could not reach me at my handphone. Many years back, RHB called my handphone to confirm if I applied for their Plat card and most recent UOB called my home where I happened to pick up the line.

David83, maybe you should go start a Thread on Citibank.

Anyway guys, I was at Mid Valley yesterday to buy a watch and ended getting an Oris watch (click here to read about ORIS and see photos of my new watch). Paid RM1000 for it using my HSBC Visa Signature to earn max 5X points for the month and the balance with MBB 2. At Mid Valley, for HSBC members, spend RM300 and you be entitled to either a shopping bag or umbrella and same gift applies for non HSBC MasterCard. But when I came back, my mum told me there is so offer for MBB cards too which I was not aware doh.gif I just checked MBB site and we get a Body Shop Bath Gel if we spend RM250 with Maybankards.

Click here for MBB card 1 Mega Sale promo.

Also used my CIMB WMC to get free flat white at Dome for dinner and then later 10% discount at Alexis for tiramisu and meringue at The Gardens. If you guys go to The Garden Flying Chillies Thai restaurant where CIMB and Citibank cards get 15% and 10% discount respectively, you must try their sizzling butter prawn (Miles, as good as the Ocean in KK).

Click here to read my article on me wanting to get a new automatic watch and my search for it at Ringgit Wise Fool.

Any RHB card holder here? Please comment on their customer service and any extra benefits or privilages. Able/easy to get the annual fee waived?

Thanks
*
Well, RHB Platinum/PB CS service (same number 92061111) is very good as far as I am concerned. They will call me back if they can't answer my queries on the spot. But I think thier CS not 24/7.

As for annual fee, I think RHB cards comes with auto waiver if spend certain sum for swipe certain times. I know that my previous EVO card I have to swipe once a month and for Plat you got to spend RM36K/year. Check the conditions for the card you are interest in.

However RHB promotions and benefits are not that great. Click here to read my short article on RHB card, which is really nothing to read about.

Hi, i'm new for the credit card. Going to apply for for my first credit card

Have few question, hope u all can help me solve it.

1. is it PETRONAS Maybankard Visa(annual fee free) good?
2. My monthly salary is RM 1700 - RM 1900, Can i apply this card MBB petronas visa?
3. Can PETRONAS Maybankard Visa do phone in EPP?

Thanks
*
MBB Petronas Visa is good if and only if you pump at Petronas. However, you still cannot qualify for a credit card based on your monthly salary because BNM ruling states that one needs to earn minimum RM24K per year to be eligible for a credit card and also now Maybank have increased their minimum income requirement for their cards to RM30K/year.

To All: I just check out the HSBC Amanah Cash back card and found that the 6% cash back only applies if one spend RM3001 and above. If you spend RM200- RM3000, you only earn 3% cash back at Shell, Caltex, Petronas, Carrefour, giant and TESCO and as usual capped at RM50 per month. Click here to read my short article on HSBC Amanah MPower card-i.

If you go to another country where BNM rulings are not applicable, then maybe you will be issued a credit card.

Life time waiver, good for you. better write down date and CS name somewhere for records.

Wanna ask a question don't know if anyone can help.

I currently hold 3 credit cards:
Maybank World Mastercard CL RM 80k Outstanding none
CIMB World Mastercard CL RM 100k Outstanding 80k
MBF World Mastercard CL RM 50k Outstanding 40k

Been holding CIMB card since 2007, Maybank since 2008 and MBF since 2010.

That is all my commitment. No car loan no housing loan etc. Monthly gross salary is RM 25k. Payment in CCRIS all prompt never late. Do you think if I apply cards from other bank they will approve or do I fall under "high risk" category? I'm in my mid 20s.
*
With you owing so much to the banks, why the heck you need another card for?

I remember once you posted if KL got merchant willing to swipe your cash in exchange for cash... did you find any?

No, I doubt it. Taking a wild guess, he must be either partying hard or likes to visit our city in the heaven or maybe our neighbour resort island brows.gif If really for business, well he must have been conned often since he's still a kid tongue.gif

Talking about kids, my 19 years old son got DA WMC and MBB 2 Plat supp cards with CL of more than the century mark but he cannot check into a hotel in Melaka today because he is under 21, hahaha He had to call me to fax the hotel a letter permitting him to check in and that the hotel is not liable for whatever happens. First time I heard such thing. When I was under 21 years back, I could check into hotels smile.gif

Lucky lah your son. Only 19 years old already got a World MasterCard. Even a debit card was so rare just a few years ago and i had to screw the internet over and over again before i finally found out that Public Bank offers a VISA Electron. Wanted my own card so badly then because i often buys something from the internet and it is much more convenient if i have my own card   laugh.gif
*
Actually my eldest son before at age 17 had 3 Debit cards - Public Bank Visa and 2 from US banks { Chase [ your avatar tongue.gif ] without my consent where he just needed to proof he is an undergraduate and his Uni Bank where account joint with me as he was under 18 and cannot have own account }. Since last year, he has Alliance Premier Debit Card that earns him 2% cash back but he doesn't use it often as that is his own money and instead uses my supp cards, cry.gif

Nowadays kids can get Debit Cards easily. All my children have Debit Cards. And you are right, with internet, one can buy anything from anywhere. My eldest daughter since age 14 have been using her Public Bank Electron card to buy clothes from HK and the other day my son bought worms couriered to my house for his fighting fishes doh.gif When I was young, I went to the road side drain to get the worms!

Reason why gave him DA WMC was so that he can buy XO at Eraman for me when he comes back. smile.gif Too bad fags no discount.
