ask hlb if got form like maybank or not. usually bank no prob to give 2.5x salary for people earn rm36k/year.

maybank - http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/inclimit_100210.pdf

but personal opinion, hlb gold mc dont give much benefits? try apply hlb essentials?
besides at the website stated:

Higher credit limit

Your Hong Leong Essential Credit Card is the only card you need because it gives you a higher credit limit so much more spending power in just one card, imagine that!

and the card give 1% cashback unlimited too smile.gif

it's time for bro gen-x or other blogger to compare all the VI cards available in malaysia including (MBB, CIMB, HLB, SCB and RHB)
*
Bro, it's under planning, done Entry Level, next Plat and then only Premier.

In the meantime, did a short article over the weekend for Maybank VI where I agree with zenquix that it is the best card for overseas transactions.

AMEX is still better than MBB VI for oversea transaction IF you spend on weekend and you have not max out the rm50 cash back quota yet

Bro, if one has the MBB VI, most probably he/she would use up the RM50 for local spending already. Or if spend above RM1K overseas on weekends with MBB 2 AMEX, he/she will be losing out.

please dun forget amex currency rate sometimes is higher. My experience at Gold Coast theme park, they charged 3.5% administration fee if customers use amex to purchase tickets.

I wonder who among us will become owners of the MBB VI card. hmm.gif

Currently what I know

1. No application form exist or can download (vs. MBB WMC which has an application form)
2. Card application is handled directly by a dedicated team from Maybank. Call in via MBB CS.

Having a Platinum card still has its advantages, for example you can enter The Gardens Premium Toilets at Ground Floor for FREE, hahahaha

The above is no longer valid...

What! cannot enter Garden Premier toilet with our Platinum cards anymore? sad.gif Thanks for the info, deleted the toilet thingy from my blog.

**EDITED** to avoid making people confuse with my WRONG statement.

As for MBB VI versus MBB 2 AMEX:
a) MBB Visa or MAsterCArd overseas transaction fee is the lowest.
b) most of us who use our AMEX overseas knows not really fixed at 2.5%.
c) MBB VI we can earn something, MBB 2 AMEX we hope that the RM1=5XTP can offset AMEX overseas fees.

not really.

UOB case:
i tried before call up uob to request permanent increase CL without submit any document after use the card for 18 mths. my wife tried before call up uob to upgrade her uob one plat to preferred plat without submit any document too. thumbup.gif

Alliance Bank case:
apply for permanent increase CL by walk in, submit latest 6 mths bank statement for proof of income and was rejected even after use the card for 7 mths. doh.gif

So, i believe it is depend on cases to cases because every bank has different policy. hmm.gif after all, if you really need a higher CL, why don't just give them a call to request increase CL whereby it cost you nothing... brows.gif

Anyway guys, I was thinking about the RM2 = 5X TP and then it hit me, with my Maybank Platinum MasterCard (not MBB 2 MC), for RM2 I will get 4X TP. Therefore actually my initial statement that we earn 2.5% with 5X TP is WRONG. For the MBB Visa Infinite, for overseas, for every RM1 we earn 2.5X Treats Points. Therefore we only get returns of 1.25%.
I'm confused. Which card are you referring to? RM2 = 5x TP? To my knowledge the Maybankard Visa Infinite is

2 TP for every RM1 locally
5 TP for every RM1 overseas.

hi all

two days ago, I've just cancelled off my RHB classic which been followed me for 8 yrs long due to the incompetent offer and benefits. Today the bank called me up and decide keep me to stay with them by offering me NO GST, NO Annual fee and double up my CL from now onward.

So I really wonder doesn't it they overturn the GST rules been stated by government whereby the bank are not allow to absorb the GST for the customer?

The second question is, should I accept it or reject it? or ask them to offer me platinum card with same condition? tongue.gif but somehow i still think that their cc benefits are sux
(Note : currently I am holding OCBC Ti and MB2 Platinum)

i think they will basically give you RM50 cash rebate or points to offset the GST. On your 2nd question, you already mention that their benefit is not up to your liking, so why still wanna get one unless of course you wanna keep it for occasional discount/offer/etc.

ya that's partially of the reason occasional discount/offer/etc. I will try to call back to nego for the platinum with the same condition see if they wanna to offer me or not else I will just reject it although the CL they offered to me is the highest among my OCBC Ti and MBB2 Platinum.

Their current RHB Platinum offer as below

If you can indeed nego for the plat, and get confirmation in writing, no AF/GST or RM50 cashback with no condition, it could be worthwhile to keep the card for the 4x complimentary access to all Plaza Premium Lounges since it is not offered by your current OCBC Ti and MBB2 Plat.
