How to enable HDMI port on astro decoder after unsubscribe Byond?

I have home theater, Unifi IPTV and Astro Byond decoder (just unsubscribed Byond last month). I'm going to connect my Astro and IPTV to home theater and then to my TV. My home theater Samsung HT-D5550WK only have 2 HDMI in. No component in, composite in, video in, or S-Video in. The problem is, after unsubscribed Byond, f***in Astro had disable the HDMI port function. Do anybody now how to enable the port?

HDMI can only be enabled by Astro from their HQ through satellite transmission. No HD service, no HDMI.

I m also facing the same problem currently. My dad got a new plasma (old crt burned), when we hooked up the hdmi cable the screen went blank. Once the smartcard has been removed, the menu appears but still requires a smartcard. Then its back to square 1!

For discussion, how about using a component to hdmi cable? (Decoder's component port to tv's hdmi)

Will this combination work or will there be any difference in the 1st place?

Any1 know?

I have just subscribed to astro byond but without HD services. I cannot connect thru hdmi but only thru stand RCA cable. Y astro so cheapskate until block this kind of silly things.. We are being forced to subscribe HD if u wanna use HDMI. I beeter use component cable in this case..

There is no other way around, if you want the HDMi port to work, then you need to subscribe to Byond HD services.

I think we ALL should do a group online protest for this to Astro... on their facebook page and any place to get their attentions...

We should setup Blogs, twitters and all other social networking to get their attention on this matter for them to enable HDMI on their Astro decoder....

HDMI is a connectors standard with video/audio... and most newer tv, receivers and such surely uses HDMI input/output..

I think if ppl purchase new led tv with ONLY HDMI, they r kinda stuck/force to subscribe to the HD channels..

I'm force to upgrade to Astro Byond PVR bcos they discontinued the Astro MAX PVR that I paid RM550 initially for the useless box... so many features was missing from the Byond PVR and yes, I too do NOT subscribes to HD channels..

What is Asiabox ?? My family mostly watch HK cantonese channels... if given a choice, I WILL unsubscribe to Astro anytime..
