My friendster profile

My first attempt at creating a flash tutorial. FYI Friendster now supports CSS customization much like myspace, so here's how to do it using Dreamweaver 8.

The flash tutorial is 2MB.

FYI I used Captivate to create it (didn't know which one to choose - captivate or viewlet). My first attempt, so didn't really bother to make it look nice and all. but still comments please! My friendster profile design or my tutorial biggrin.gif

I don't think the Friendster interface is that difficult to do in CSS.

Try doing ESPN.com or Download.com. Headache staring the markup. LoL! tongue.gif

well yeah friendster isnt really difficult. it's just that you can't really go throught the whole code; can only edit some parts of the code, and even then got some limitations.

but thanks! keep the comments coming! biggrin.gif

junkieG: patutnye dalam css kalo ko letak
background-url:"file.swf"

die boleh jalan. tapi most if not all browser tak support gune swf dalam background-url, so takleh la. tapi ade nye cara lah.

teori ako? dalam tempat Now Playing, itu je tempat yang ko leh letak additional HTML, so why not letak satu div tag yang ada swf file tu, then under custom style, ko positionkan div tag tu kat memane lokasi kat page tu yang ko nak.

anyway, right now i have this css prob.
if you look in your friendster profile, the part/div tag where it says "More about username" and "username's blog" and "username's testimonials" all use the same css style/element. and, because of that, say you want to replace one of the text with a pic, it's not possible because then all of those 3 texts will use the same pic lah, get it?

so i remembered before that there is a way for you to create an element, where it only applies to a specific text. something like this
P["Hello *"] { font-size=20px }

<p>Hello how are you?</p>

would show

Hello how are you?

something like that. the way is called using custom string or something, cant remember lah. help?

I think that would be a CSS2 or CSS3 property that might not be recognized by IE later. Anyway, codes should actually be asked in the Codemasters. tongue.gif

i vote for bodoh actually laugh.gif

well they can vote for whatever they like lah. not like i will nangis or anything biggrin.gif

but thanks for those who comment ah! those are the things that I need. I mean I know its too fast, dual language makes it hard to read, blablabla but you never know others' opinions if you don't ask them wink.gif

thanks!

oh and didn't know that there is such a thing as a codemasters forum biggrin.gif and IE should definitely recognise it, since i saw it many years ago in a w3.org page.

ter vote bodoh .. the tutorial is ok for me, but 2MB is huge for somthing like that

i tot it was refering to friendster move to allow CSS editing .. i'm against that.. that's the reason why i never login into myspace anymore..
there alot of bodoh people who think their page is cool by adding video,mp3, huge wallpaper, flash game etc. Their text readability also makes me cry. But funny how this mysnailloadingspace.com wh0res can attract thousands of neverknowswheretheycomefrom friends.

I also against the action to make video available. But CSS customization was great since you can have personal profile design. Kinda feel like deskmodding tongue.gif

**OFFTOPIC**
I would vote for Bodoh as for the folder named that were used in the tutorial... k***k WTF... can't think of another named kaa?

Freindster trying to keep up. Oh no, time to Unregister My Account. They should only allow basic text formatting and stuff. But to encourage even using Video Clips and Music x.x

Bleh.

50-50 on the vote eh?
well, i think it's great!
maybe it's not that great for the pros, but for the not so pro people, it's definitely good. and they can even learn something about CSS while they're at it.
good job C-Fu.
