Guys, i have two subwoofer as below.

Size : 18"
ohm : 8
Program Watt : 400
Peak Watt : 1600

1. ok, i have two of those, i will wired those two in parallel that makes it configured at 4 ohm load.
but since it is parallel, how many watt max is allow to feed them?
800w or 3200w or 400w?

2. my 2nd question,
i have an amp that give out 2800w bridge at 4ohm.. does it safe to run those two sub?

3. 3rd question,
my amp says,
2x1100w at 4ohm.
if i wired those sub at only one channel and left one channel empty.. will it damage the amp?
at this configuration, each sub will receive 550w.. am i right?

thanks guys.. hoping u guys are able to help to prevent damages and so that i can full use of these sub capability.. thumbup.gif

1. still 400w each... so you need at least 800w @ 4ohm...

2. wont say save or not... because it all depends on how much the sub could really take... and also make sure you do your scoping on the amps to really know where does it clips and stuff... that way you can keep your setup safe...

3. yes each sub will get 550wrms... the other channel... i guess your RCA will have to use a mono RCA... best not to feed the other unused channel with audio signals with no output. smile.gif

1. Bro, my amp says 2x700watt at 8 ohm. do u think it is better for me to run in stereo mode.. 700watt each channel?

2. was about to say Safe, not save.. salah type hihi.. ok i see the "clip" fuction.. so it is best not to turn the volume till clip led up?

3.550w is not enuf right? because it says peak is at 1600w..

hey Thanks bro.. rclxms.gif

better wire them in series so that each sub gets 350W @ 16ohm

or just wire it direct, play stereo, each sub gets 700W @ 8ohm, better....

in series, but i want to make use of all the capability bro.. i just need to know, how much power can these two sub receive since the peak is 1600w.. if i wired in parallel means that the peak will be 3200w.. is it safe to put on 2800w at 4ohm?

err.. i thought of wired in parallel and get 4 ohm load and use only 1 channel.. so each sub shud get 550w.. right?
and the other empty channel will be use for monitor or OTHER source later..

if you are not going for a serious SPL competition... using this setup for a long run...

you should use both the channel... 700wrms x 2 @ 8ohm for both subs... that way you run your amp at a safe operating region while giving both subs the right amount of juice to work properly...

the clip function... yea its used that way... be its still better if you scope your amp... its a small fee to pay to protect your investment...

and to tell you the truth... when you are running a full potential 1000wrms SPL setup... you will have to reinforce a lot of things or else you would get a lot of rattling and "self dismantling" of a lot of stuff... plus... your ride's charging system would be choking as well trying to supply those huge current... which in the end, 3 things happens:
1. sub voice burnt, due to "overjuiced"
2. amp failure due to insufficient current supply from your ride's charging system
3. ride's charging system failure due to constant overloading...

your setup... your call
