Well, if you give a book to a cow, he will not be able to read. It is easy to trivialize modern art to "a stroke here and a stroke there" but You need to have a good understanding of art to interpret/understand the intent and meaning of a painting. Jackson Pollock's painting is just paint drip that most can do as well ...
If you really appreciate art then you will know that a decent quality blank canvas at 3' x 3' already cost rm200-300. Not to mentioned the paint and the artist time to do the art. Added on August 18, 2011, 4:29 pm

since you mentioned Pollock, then I assume you know something about art. Then you must also know that nice art takes time and passion to do thus will cost more than what you are willing to spend. What the ppl have revered you to are mass produced, heartless, soulless pieces of works. 
Drop by Art Village (in Kelana Square I think) they have a good range of affordable art at the size that you are thinking of. There are cheap ones and some good ones too by not famous artist, but artist nonetheless...
