Well, if you give a book to a cow, he will not be able to read.  It is easy to trivialize modern art to "a stroke here and a stroke there" but You need to have a good understanding of art to interpret/understand the intent and meaning of a painting.  Jackson Pollock's painting is just paint drip that most can do as well ...

If you really appreciate art then you will know that a decent quality blank canvas at 3' x 3' already cost rm200-300. Not to mentioned the paint and the artist time to do the art. blush.gif since you mentioned Pollock, then I assume you know something about art. Then you must also know that nice art takes time and passion to do thus will cost more than what you are willing to spend. What the ppl have revered you to are mass produced, heartless, soulless pieces of works. rclxub.gif

Drop by Art Village (in Kelana Square I think) they have a good range of affordable art at the size that you are thinking of. There are cheap ones and some good ones too by not famous artist, but artist nonetheless... icon_rolleyes.gif

Can you please read my posts carefully before making comments that do not make sense???  I was asking for some good picture frames.  Someone else was asking about oil painting for RM200-300 and NOT me.  I was just responding to the off topic comment about modern art.  Yes, I have seen more than enough real paintings to know that good painting will likely worth more than RM200.

Sorry my bad, getting old. Eyes not good. oops.gif doh.gif

When you said you looking for a good one, miss read as good painting... blink.gif

If you want good framing go ask artist where they frame their works. Quite hard to frame non-flat objects like rugs. Very few framers know how to frame it nicely. Think there used to be one in Sri Hartamas the shop lots near the petronas.

OK.  Thanks for the feedback on rugs framing.  As for cost of a painting, even my poster of Guernica already more than RM300!  smile.gif

Got a nice painting from Bangkok. Quite cheap, local artist there. About rm3k for 6'x4'. Spent 2 days looking for it. blink.gif

Problem was bringing it back. Damn huge... rclxub.gif
