GUys...I got this ipad 2...no receipt.... terslam it into the side of drawer and now there is no screen display liao. can I know what can I do with it? Can I take it to apple center and claim warranty even if I dont have receipt? or what can I do?

Send to warranty ya, check your serial number at apple website..

send to warranty if within 1year..
international warranty can send to service center..
try to plug in itune see can backup ur data or not..

1 more important question, is the ipad jailbroken? if yes you have to restore back to original before sending it to claim for warranty

What about the sound..is it working? Because this situation happened to my sister's iphone before when her iphone drop on the floor.
What i did was i slap directly on the screen and guess what..the display came back..maybe it's my luck.

guys.... i sent it back to warranty already. Luckily I registered the product last time so I dont have to go home and register again. Everything went smoothly unexpectedly... Thanks guys.

how to register it online while on the product selection menu only have iPad ? no iPad 2.

i think you can claim for warranty, there's no dent of visible damages on your iPad 2 right?

actually, you should have registered it when you plug the iPad into the pc to sync with iTunes for the first time. The iTunes will ask you to register your iPad online before completely starting up your iPad.

But if I'm not wrong, you need to register your iPad within 7 or 14 days from your purchase - anyone can help to answer this cos I'm still newbie at apple stuff

my ipad2 dropped from 3-4ft table with normal rubber casing few times still survived..

u need no to register ur warranty online coz ur serial. no. got manufacturing date d....diff not much..

guys...i have claimed my warranty and they changed some units in the ipad for me and its working fine now...its free!

u cna claim warranty from any apple outlet, machines, mac studio, epicentre etc...

snapped a pic of my ipad after they repaired and returned it to me. remember to register ur product yea!

No need to register the iPad meehhh ... Apple system now is that they WILL KNOW when the produce the iPad so that they will have an estimate on whether the iPad is still under warranty or not. If you are within a couple of weeks of the estimate, then maybe you can bring your receipt for proof of purchase, otherwise send in for warranty, no need to bring anything but the iPad.

They repaired it?? No one on one exchange?

I don't think they repaired it. TS should check the serial. When I sent mine for warranty, they replaced the units

very funny question u ask here. 1st,damage by ur own hand. 2nd, no resit to proof the buying. 3rd, asking for warranty. all this is ur own negligence, as u know electronic device shold be handle with care and the resit shld be keep in safe place in case for manufacture faulty.
i think u have to fork out $$$ at ur own cost liao.

If your read through the thread, you will know that TS managed to claim warranty for his iPad 2.

I see no reason why he should not be able to claim warranty. Apple is known to be a stickler for cosmetic damage even though the problem you're asking for warranty has nothing to do with the cosmetic damage.

You are expected to by Apple to keep your Apple products in pristine condition (no scratches/dents on the body) and only then will they entertain any warranty requests. How is that fair? If the problem is with the backlight bleeding for example, how is the scratches at the back of the iPad got to do with the factory defect being sold to you by Apple? If you have scratches, then tough luck, you have to live with a factory defect that is not of your making ... and that is okay?

Added on September 19, 2011, 3:28 pmNope, cracked screen even if it happens without your fault (who knows, I've heard people swearing that some of the iPhone/iPad screens cracked by themselves) will not be covered by warranty.

They will charge you for it and it is not cheap.
