Guys, I've been wondering, anyone tried fitting 185/60/r15 tires instead of 195/60/r15?
My current CC1 tires are nearly a go, time to change to new donuts.
Thinking of reducing the tire width to improve fuel consumption.
I mostly drive in city which hardly able to cruise at 80km/h for more than 3 mins

So far, managed 360km for 35L of fuel for pure city driving.
185/60/15 will be slightly smaller in overall size compared to 195/60/15, as the 60 (thickness of the tyre) is a percentage of the 185/195 (width of the tyre). Narrower tyres provides better FC as there is less rolling resistance, but at the same time reduces the braking ability & increases the braking distance. Not to also mention that the cars came factory fitted with 195/60 tyres because of the weight distribution. PE is a relatively heavy car, so by using narrower tyres, they are more prone to bursting/pancit on the car's full load. U will also sacrifice ur handling, whether it is to take corners or high speed stability.
Changing to larger/wider tyre is fine as there are many plus points, but changing to narrower/smaller tyres is not really recommended. The cons that u get at the end of the day is not worth the minimal reduction in FC. U might as well go with light mods such as spark plugs & air filter to reduce ur FC, as well as using the correct amount of lube and experimenting with different brands of petrol to achieve lower FC.
