You will still get the more or less same UI because you are seeing Samsung themed Gingerbread instead of pure Gingerbread.Samsung GALAXY SL (Super Clear LCD) (GT-i9003) V2, Simply Amazing

QUOTE(asda @ Oct 15 2011, 01:50 PM) Flash XXKPE and then flash XXKPH.Remember to flash XXKPE first. If you are totally new in flashing firmware, please spend some time reading in xda first, or you risk getting your phone bricked. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787 |

QUOTE(pgsiemkia @ Oct 31 2011, 05:45 PM) great place to meet SL owners. I wuz here earlier in Aug and now I'm back! Need help, today my SL cannot make calls or send messages, but IE access works fine. Error message " No Data ..." Anyone had this problem before. Software error? Are you on stock firmware or other custom firmware? Have you try putting other sim card and see if it works?I took it to the Samsung center in Gardens, MV and the guys there said software problem and wanted to charge me RM80! RM80 is too steep for a minor problem if your phone is still under warranty IMO. |

QUOTE(Hunz @ Nov 3 2011, 09:02 PM) how long upgrade needed? If you left 10% you better don't flash it because the flashing procedure consumes a lot of battery and if your battery goes empty in the middle of the process, you are doomed.my battery left 10% only.. don't dare upgrade now as they say recommended fully charge. but i tot usb is charging it I normally flash my phone when the battery is at least 60%, just personal preference. |

QUOTE(nwy5633 @ Nov 7 2011, 05:29 PM) yup, done it now the phone is alive.. Suggest you just use Odin, Kies is such a mess and always fail to download or upgrade firmware.i flashed to xxkb3 then back to dxkb2, but no luck when wanna upgrade to dxkb9 through kies. it say the version of firmware i using can't b upgrade???? i tried reflash the dxkb2, but still same.. so need to dl dxkb9 from xda and flash oh? Odin is much simpler and easier. Save time as well. |

QUOTE(EmeraldKeng @ Dec 1 2011, 05:54 PM) hey.. what changes do i get if i update it to official gingerbread.. (e.g wallpapers, keyboard, camera interface, lockscreen. etc) is there any visible changes? There are some visible changes from Froyo > Gingerbread, however since what we get is Samsung TouchWiz themed Gingerbread so there will be not much difference after you update. You can expect performance changes but not visual changes. |

I'm so pissed off of flashing custom ROM or even kernel on this phone.
Flashing stock ROMS is ok, but the phone will go haywire once I flash CFRoot universal, UC Kernel or vurrut ROM. The phone will die if I launch any app, even setting. Today I've gone through KPE to KPQ 3 times already >_< |

QUOTE(PeaceOfMind @ Mar 3 2012, 09:01 PM) hi anyone facing issue on the screen? since it is gorilla glass, but why my SL's screen got horizontal "scratch" line, and it seems very evenly appear on the screen, looks like not scratch manually.. anyone can advice/help me? Able to snap a photo and see?By the way gorilla glass is strong but not scratch proof, you will get scratch on the screen easily too especially with sand. |

QUOTE(PeaceOfMind @ Mar 4 2012, 05:05 PM) bro, really still will get scratch ar? wow... i dunno if can snap the pic, cz when i see under a strong light with an angle only i can see the horizontal line... will it be the screen faulty already? if without warranty, how much to replace the screen? i will try snap the pic later Replacing LCD normally will cost RM500+ with or without warranty.Yes it will still get scratch, Gorilla is meant to be strong and scratch resistant, not scratch proof. It is better if you can show us a picture since I don't really know how serious is your case. |

Guys can recommend me a stable ROM to use as daily driver?
The phone is with my gf's mother. It was on Poseidon ROM but now she is complaining about freezing and lagging. I don't see much development on this phone in XDA so need you guys input. |
