QUOTE(kira_88 @ Oct 7 2011, 08:56 AM)
hi guys..before this i 've flashed my phone with xxkph. i've been using it for two month without any problem at all. but recently some annoying problem occur..the phone restarted itself, at first it was once every 3-2 days, then it become every 5 minutes if i left the phone in standby.now it happen even when i'm using my phone and i have to choose my phone language everytime it restarted.my contacts also disappeared!

before this i've done this to my phone, flashed my phone with cf-root,ext4 conversion,de-odexed, and also sd card swap mod

i'm thinking of flashing my phone to original firmware DXKB2 and see if the problem still persist.if it is i,m gonna sent it for warranty
but then i want to know if i need the csc, bootloader, and modem file like when i,ve flashed to xxkpe and then xxkph.i,ve downloaded DXKB2 but it only contain the pda files.

hope someone can help me with this
*
u just need to download xxkb3.flash it 2 TIMES (should not miss this) then flash with dxkb2.the problem should be solved(or u may just end up using xxkb3 which is more stable than dxkb2 tongue.gif).if not solve just send for warranty like how uve planned

hey,i dont think we need froyo bootloader to flashback from gb rite?u should flash 1st with xxkb3(bcos it has pda, modem and csc like xxkpe)and then flash back the dxkb2.then dxkb2 will be working.
if we dont have froyo bootloader we will not kantoi for flashing gb rite?i also need to confirm on this.bcos i just notice my phone got 2 dots(deadpixels).want to send it for warranty also

as far as i know,no other way.from what i read previously in xda, people say gingerbread has some different setting(which i not really understand)that prohibit u from rooting by soc or other.thats y cf-root is created.maybe u can try with soc 1st,but from what i read,it will not fully root ur device

Bolded steps may be replaced with the Battery Calibration app from Market, which may be easier...
Gonna try it.  There are 2, CF-ROOT-DXKP9-10-11-2011.tar and CF-ROOT-DXKP9-Ext4-With-Extra-06-11-2011.tar.  Since I'm on stock 2.3.5, I should get the first one, right?

EDIT: rooted succesfully.  Now might wanna try EXT4.  How to reverse from EXT4?  Does EXT4 give a significant speed improvement?
*
there is slight improvement in my opinion.people say ull get significant increased in benchmarking with ext4.but benchmarking is just not my toy, so i really dont know. i read somewhere if u factory reset,ext4 will be reversed.need to double check about that

EDIT:i think the only way to reverse ext4 is by reflashing, since its the only way to reformat ur file system.
and plz take note the steps of do backup before conversion and restore after conversion and only then reboot is very important to be followed.phone may end in bootloop if u straight away reboot without a restore.

why not send to samsung centre first for warranty before sending back to that shop?sending directly for warranty actually is very lenient, especially for phone model that not even reaching a year.ive send my phone to samsung centre and they straight away take it for warranty repair without asking any proof of purchase.i was really shocked!! shocking.gif and maybe u can tell what has ur friend done to the phone before he gets such problems?he flash custom rom?the phone fell down?masuk air?knowing the cause may help us to help

I hate the fact that after we upgrade to Gingerbread, we r no longer able to use 3rd party launcher apps like Launcher Pro. I still feel that the stock launcher is very unresponsive and it's making my phone lag even more. I miss Froyo sad.gif
*
really?ive able to use go launcher normally.it may not be as smooth as how i use it in froyo, but acceptable for me.and launcher stock works great even with full animation on.however i never use launcher pro before

hmmm.. of course if all else fails, will send back to the service centre.

just wondering if there is anything that can be done before that.

i'm sure he doesn't flash or anything like that. The kinda user that just buys and uses it as it is
*
have u tried flashing xxkb3 2nd time?i assume u flash it from beginning right(from latona pit flashing to xxkb3)?sometimes its due to odin bug,u need to flash a firmware 2 times for it to really works.and about the recovery, are u sure u pushing the 3 buttons combo correctly(volume up+home+power)?u can try flash cwm see if its working.choose the one for xxkb3

I called up Samsung - 1800 number to check for SL 2.3.5 OS, a man called Ridzal told me it is not out yet. I told him I got notification from KIES. He then check with his technical person and confirm even there is no 2.3.5 update via KIES.

So, I redial again and the same guy picked up. I close the phone and redial, another man call Shakir answered. I asked the same Qs and he told me it is available.

Sigh!!!!

Qs to all - (1) it's 2.3.5 right? (2) future - where there be 2.3.X??? Cos no point to go to Samsung Service center and do OS update twice or thrice. Ya, I prefer to go there then updated over KIES - risky.

Thks!!!
*
just flash via kies.its time consuming and make sure your internet connection is good.but its better to do it urself.dunno how long u need to leave the phone if u want to just update ur firmware in the centre, bcoz i really think they will not directly upgrade it for u on the spot.they have many other people coming for repairing and collecting phones.most probably theyll entertain those first.just my 2cents

n 2.3.6 for europe has already out - xxkpq.should give it a try once i get my hand back on my phone!!

QUOTE(clal @ Nov 23 2011, 02:33 PM)
Hi Everyone,

My Malaysian stock I9003 was running original firmware DXKB2 2.2.1 and after officially updating to DXKP9 2.3.5 via KIES, it started to hangs up all the time and also the Back and Menu Button unresponsive.

Using ODIN3v.1.83, I downgrade my firmware to DXKF1, then upgrade to DXKB2, then to XXKPE, before to DXKP9 finally. Throughout the updating process in each firmware, the Menu and Back button are still NOT RESPONSIVE at all. Before doing these, the phone hangs up few seconds after use (after updating from DXKB2 to DXKP9 directly via KIES), and the Menu and Back button not responding. Now, the hang up issue no longer happens, but the Menu and Back button still not responding at all.

Could anyone please help? Thanks in advance.
*
if u know how to flash using odin, then i say that flashing using kies is useless.u should just flash by odin in the beginning.

and this is what people usually do when we have problem flashing with odin - reflash the firmware back(twice or thrice).most of the problem solved this way.

instead of flashing with dxkb2,u can try flash from beginning with latona.pit and then proceed with xxkb3.flash xxkb3 twice or thrice(with not flashing latona.pit again).enter recovery and factory reset+wipe cache and check the functions back.see if the buttons working or not.
when u found that those buttons working, flash ur desired firmware(dxkb2,dxkp9 etc).but make sure u check those function working in xxkb3 first before proceeding.many people succeeded that way.

hope it helps

can ask u guys a question:

When the phone batt drop below 10%....the phone auto barred the use of applicaiton ie music player and cam...

how do  i force the phone to let me use it ie camera during such situation?
*
there is a mod in xda forum for that, but ur firmware should be xxkpm.if ur on xxkpm/kpn/kpq,u can try that mod(its for camera, donno for music player)

Yes, I did initially flash it to DXKF1, then upgrade to DXKB2, then to XXKPE, before to DXKP9 finally.  Result still the same.  sad.gif

I had the phone working for 1 day after I update it from the stock DXKB2 straight to DXKP9 via KIES.  Then the Menu and Back became unresponsive from then onwards, only then I started using the ODIN3 to reflash it, but it's still not working.  sad.gif
*
try flash from latona.pit,dxkf1(twice,thrice until the button working)then dxkp9 via ODIN

1) this phone can put gameloft/EA hd games into external sd card without patching/rooting?
2) how much user available internal storage is left to install apps?
*
theres a mod done by somebody(i forgot the name, bcoz i use the swap thing thumbup.gif ) he makes patches for gamelofts so that u can change the apk to install data on external sd.he creates for both lg and samsung devices separately.u can search on google and mobilism.org. but there is a bug, where some people say when they patch apk of a game, they get a file of another game eg:u make patch for asphalt 5,u get fishingking doh.gif
u mean by available internal storage is phone storage or internal sd storage?
