Can someone please show me how to root and upgrade i9003 from froyo to GB? I found and tried many ways but failed.

I'm flashing using I9003_Odin3_v1.82 with firmware I9003DXKP9_I9003OLBKP7_XME and pit file latona_20110114.pit

I select I9003DXKP9_I9003OLBKP7_I9003DXKP7_HOME.tar.md5 for PDA, unchecked re-partition. Set my phone to download mode and I press start. after my phone restart, i do a factory reset and wipe cache partition through the recovery mode (volume up + home + power button). but got 1 error, E:format_volume:rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10.

After i select reboot system now, it keeps restating after samsung logo.
