sinec we're in the subject of throttle stop, ive been wondering, at wat minimum cpu speed, will the cpu not bottleneck the gpu? becoz, certain gaming may support cpu scalling. albeit a little % smile.gif

i think u should teach us user how to update our "optimus" driver at the first page. since acer doesn't update our lappy driver regularly on their website. smile.gif

^ well 275.33 was an official driver too but i had to use the modified INF. i was surprised that 280.26 doesnt require me to use modified INF. it detects my GPU just fine smile.gif

Added on August 16, 2011, 9:28 amneed help, do u think, an IBM-compatible OEM spare part, can fit into Acer laptops? IBM-compatible usually means universal rite?

here's da item :

http://goo.gl/74Dpj

im also thinking about buying this one, but it says its for macbooks, but 4830TG uses a 9.5mm superslim dvd drive...theoretically, it shud work. juz daz, quite worried about the external SATA connector location.

I bought it last month

- Battery is real last long, i can just use it more than 7 ~ 8 hours just for the web and do some documentation. flex.gif
- Like the design very much >< drool.gif
- Just worry about the battery life will be affected if I'm playing game like crysis 2, currently still ok. icon_rolleyes.gif
- the usb port design is not at very good location, as I plug in pendrive at right handside, when I move the mouse will bump the pendrive and cause it disconnected
- Last night I forgotten to unplug my cooler pad USB port at left handside, and I realize the cooler is still spinning even you didnt turn on ur laptop blink.gif
- When I close my laptop, close the screen to hand rest area, somehow I felt it didnt close fit.
- Headphone jack is quite tight and I nid some strength to pull out cool.gif
- Personally I feel quite comfort in using the keyboard. biggrin.gif
- I didnt face any heat issues and the cooling part of the laptop itself is quite efficient

Overall rating for my 4830tg (4/5 star) icon_rolleyes.gif

^ agree man.. they placed the USB port not so strategically..

keyboard is ok for me too but personally i feel tat it is not as good and comfortable as my old inspiron 1420.

me too i didnt face any heat issues too and i dun understand why the other owners are facing tis kind of prob. the cooling is so efficient tat it's so much better than my old lappie.

I tried on crysis2, with my cooler pad. without air cond. 1366x 768. Max 81c and maintaining at 70c~79c.
But I seldom play such high requirement , just play nfs with usb controller and sc2 would be enough. 50c~69c
