for true hikers usually they will leave nothing behind. but for so-so hiker they do.

especially for TIN SARDIN, that is why we ban this can.
*
thats why we need to re-educate them,... normally if i see another gang hiking, if they throw rubbish, i wud just pick it up and put into my rubbish bag (if dirty then wash with water fist), right in front of them.. they wub normally startle and a bit malu 1,.. i wud smile to them and tell them it's okay,... just a few gram on my back, i can carry it out... then they wud chat with u,... tell them how it help if every1 adopt this habit....

the wrong way is this: u saw some1 throw rubbish, u scold them,... they angry, they won't learn,...

i sometimes bring tin food too... it's easy cooking....

i think u shud try to search Apps for hikers,.. and GPS battery consumption is high, mine the software got energy saving feature but still 3 hours only... for long hike better bring extra battery or battery extension for ipong (got sell at LYN)...

Going up was very cold, lots of wind and the sky was clear. at pondok we tutup all lampu, play candle and lookup the sky...enjoy darkness and tranquility. syoknye...

haha usually i hike slow and short pace lol. too fast kenot la...leg cramp.

Added on September 25, 2011, 12:49 pmand i don like camping with anything more than 4 ppl. so troublesome if so many. lol.
*
i used to organize a camping party with about 30-40 ppls,.. but 4x4 trips not hiking at Kuala Kubu Baru (near the water dam),.. we brought amplifier, big speaker, pasar malam generator , booze and party in the jungle,... 1 gal birthday, we lite up the whole river with candle (it 's very beautiful), she so touch she cry that nite,...it's quite fun with many ppl,... but for hiking i prefer smaller party, cos making sure every1 is safe is quite a hassle (there's some who scare to touch moss or dare not to cross river), and co-operate-ability among members sometimes is pain in the ass (some who like to act like boss)... sometimes i prefer solo for hiking,.. but for 4x4 u need at least 1 assistant...

pollution?... do u know in the jungle oxygen level is >21% and in the city is <20% oxygen?,.. the plant in the jungle are hunger of CO2 and the power generator is smaller than a car engine,.. the CO2 generated wud be clean by the plant lesser than 1 day,... do u know that agriculturist pump in CO2 to their plant for healthier crops?.. our CO2 generation is miniscule than a kapcai generate in the city..

okay forget 'bout that bozo...

contrary to him,.. camp fire is very nostalgic to campers...

Camp Fire

Fire is the vital survival for any campers,.. the story of camp fire goes long ago,.. after caveman discover use of fire, the relationship with campfire begin,... at 1st they warm themselves on cold,.. then they figure it scared away predators,..after they figure out that they can cook with fire, they can eat and digest more things.. this make them smart b'cos of better nutrient,.. caveman appreciate fire and sometimes worship it,..

ancient ppl not only utilize fire,.. they celebrate around them, (proof: watch tribal ceremony, mostly around camp fire),.. i remember as a scout, we modern ppl also like to tell story, play games, sing song or play guitar around campfire,.. Jamborees is always the most exiting event in my scout's day...

if the weather is not wet, i'll always look for fire woods (i seldom chop wood, picking from ground shud be dryer, freshly chop is hard to burn)..

here the video how to build a campfire (kiddies knowlegde but a lot of adults dunno)
just basic tinder, kinder, and fuel

this 1 is harder

QUOTE(happy4ever @ Sep 27 2011, 12:22 AM)
you have to be aware of pollution also when in the forest

too many people = too much garbage. some likes to throw sweet wrappers and such. So need to be careful to pick up all garbage.
Somemore when in jungle, its best to respect it. not to make too much noise as it will disturb the night creatures out mating/hunting etc.
Hantu also attracted to you mang brows.gif
*
i'm a responsible camper,.. all the member help clean up,pick-up rubbish and drive it out with 4x4,... even when hiking i bring out rubbish,... remember i mention b4, it is a good practice to bring along extra plastic for rubbish?..

ghost?... u believe too much on campfire scary story,.. there's too much myth about the jungle, some said don't bring eggs, it attract ghost,... don't bring pork, u'll anger the spirit,.. i don't believe all those, i sometimes brought luncheon meat,... nothing happen to me,..

it is the beast that u shud scared of,.. if there's loud noise, it will scared them off,.. and clean up all ur cooking and keep ur food seal tight (either in plastic bag or container) to avoid scavenger,... but i doubt there's really any big predator nowadays,... i heard Ayer Hitam Puchong got Jaguar, but dunno how true it is,.. for save guard, get a long pole, and sharpen the end, that can ward off some animal,..

QUOTE(happy4ever @ Sep 27 2011, 12:22 AM)
This one has few problems, the stove parts can be spoiled easily, and the heat dissipate onto the gas canister is very high also, very risky
Plus the joint where u screw and unscrew the canister is held on by two weak screws. So if u use it few more times, it can be loose, and pose another risk.  tongue.gif

The campingaz blueuet stove so far has lower heat dissipate into the can and the gas pressure is more stabilize than the cheap gas canister you use.

Well all stoves has its pros and cons tho.
*
nope u r wrong,... the connection between the fire and the canister of my stove are more longer than campinggaz blueuet stove... and heat don't dissipate into canister, instead the canister is cooler when u using it,.. don't believe me,.. touch ur stove canister after few minutes using it, it got cooling droplets around it like outside of ice water glass..

i'm been using it for years,... it cheaper and saver than those blue thingy,.. beside mine don't have to use up all my gas,.. it can dissemble and assemble easily,.. else those blue thingy once fitted on u had to use all the gas up b4 u can dissemble it (unless some got a valve there)

best way to get into a hammock is to sit / put your backside in first. then twist and then only put your body / legs in. don't forget drip rings if you want to sleep comfy in the rain.  icon_rolleyes.gif
