Mine (FTTH) :

Yes, it could be the notebook wireless adapter. I have a Dell 6400 notebook, it gives me pings up to 100+-, only ASUS netbook, only 20-30+-. Most of time is caused due to the following reasons :
1) Weak WiFi signal (the weaker the connection the higher the ping)
2) Wireless adapter driver issue
3) Wireless router issues
4) Virus infected PC
etc..
*
FTTH

how to stting bro mine to guide me how?
*nway im using tp-link 1043ND flash with openwrt*

One Newbie Question , i see a lot of Suggestion to Flash their Routers to OpenWRT,  what is the actual benefit in doing so?

I read a few locations whereby there are people claiming that their connection speed gets better, their more stable. But can any Guru's here explain is this really true and what is the logic behind it? (sorry if this became a hijack thread, but as i've just applied for my VIP10 line , i'm preparing all the neccesary to get the maximum benefit smile.gif )

u can read all about openWRT/dd wrt here

QUOTE(kevinphuah88 @ Oct 4 2011, 11:13 PM)
guys, i started using unifi vip5 today, but the wifi strength is v weak. my cctv technician said its due to the inferior quality of d-link router. change it and it would help significantly, is this correct ?

so i just use back my previous 5/6 years old router, linksys WRT54G ?

but the d-link is N series router, isnt it going to serve better than B/G router ?

sorry if this ques has been asked alot here.. no time to read backwards.

btw, wat did u guys get using Speedtest ? i got 4xxx kbps, USJ 9 area.

not all router compataible with unifi
go see on klseet.com

ASUS RT-N13U WIFI N 300 WITH USB SUPPORT 185
ASUS RT-N56U DUAL BAND WIFI ROUTER 479
TP-LINK TL-WR841 WIFI N 300 ROUTER 85
TP-LINK TL-SL2210WEB 8PORT VLAN SWITCH 239

got these from lowyat c-zone price list. tat means only the following product can replace unifi products ?

so if im to change the router to this -> TP-LINK TL-WR841 WIFI N 300 ROUTER 85, it would help me to get better strength and improve the speed ? or need to change the all-in-one asus but costs rm479 ?  doh.gif
*
before this i have the same problem like urs
as i need my 1st floor to get at least enough coverage from the router!
*ps b4 this im p1 user and using belkin 300N series and place the router and modem at 2nd floor*
still not enough to get full speed at the 1st floor

den i bought TP-link 1043ND ultimate gigabit N
and walaa! it increased the range i think nearly +25%

and last 2 weeks i just installed unifi and luckly the tp-link 1043ND compataible with unifi*price of the router around RM160 nowdays*

and it work like charm! thumbup.gif
