i wanna buy modem replacement and i checked it at klseet and found that few modem.

which one better to TP link? version 7.1?

kindly advice. thanks
*
hmm.gif what you mean version 7.1. Version 7.1 is the version of the specific model not the model code.

Tp-link that supports unifi are TP-Link Wr841ND and W8960N. Both nice and strong. Cincai get one also pawn kao kao. See my post back on top of this page. The antenna straight can see the difference. The tp-link 841nd 5dbi antenna looks nice drool.gif especially when compared to the one given by TM ==. Forever full bar now thumbup.gif

Oh yea... I need to ask how to configure port forward for the Tp-link Wr841ND. For athena hub. Please pm me? Post here also can. Played around with the submenu under port forward but no chance getting it working. lol

Hey guys I just got my Unifi a few days ago, everything fine and good. Just want to ask how to protect our Unifi equipment from lightning. I do have a cal-lab lightning isolator for my four socket plug that the Unifi euipment is connected to, is that enough?

Asking coz my area quite susceptible to lightning strike, kill my modem/router and PC a few times already

Why worry, its all covered with warranty. Even lightning protector cannot protect 100%

Is TM still supplying D-Link wifi routers for Unifi? Are they still as bad as what I first heard about it?

I know it's covered, at least if protected less chances of it happening and I don't have to go through the trouble of waiting for stuff to be replaced. I do have to work you know, and can't simply stay home whenever I want and wait for TM to replace my Unifi equipments

If you are landed property, you don't even need to worry about lightning strike your network equipment, because it is FTTH, fiber is immune to electric, it is non-conductive media!

If you are in high rise building, since the copper cable inside the building may induce current when lightning strike, it is possible to damage the network equipment but normally quite unlikely.

Still... there's copper part for landed property. Surge protection is still needed for power supply. Don't tell me you power from fibre xD

Of course, power outlet still need to be protected, but network cable shouldn't be worry, it is pretty easy for modem to get lightning strike via phone line most of the time, last time I got 2-3 times lightning strike every year, every time it hit the modem, no exception.

yeah I experience that so many times, changed modem/router 2-3 times in just a few months. good to know that I don't have to worry about the fiber optic line, as long as my power supply have surge protection smile.gif

I have just got my Unifi last 3 days. Well the speed is awesome! BUT whenever it reach 12.00AM mignight my speed will drop to 1mbps!!!! Anyone experience this ? I try to downlaod from many places (my private server which upload 100mbps, YouTube, other torrent) but still the same.

Yes I did try speedtest it show 4.8mbps downlaod and 6.8mbps upload (weird) but still the actually download speed when I download the file is only 1mbps. Reboot my Unifi for many times but still the same.

Any idea ?

And yeah I just same like i7 user which mine is Total Outstanding Amount: 95.51. Is that normal ?

Thanks in advance.

Sometimes TM does maintenance work starting from 12.00 midnight so it could be temporary. There should be less users after midnight so what you are experiencing is not normal.
