Because
1) It's provided by tm
2) The antenna gain is only 1.8dBi, means wireless is a NO NO
3) It just can't handle all the connection well and hang

if you live in condo, then if condo building network=copper sux than thats nothing to do with unifi.. its your building problem
if you live in condo where they are using building network=fiber optics than different story..

But it is happened strangely. For the first week installation, it is working fine and somtimes 10hrs without any problem. but when it start, every 5 mins DSL line of/on. dont you think it is network equipment/network issue?

High Rise condo using vdsl.

question:
do i have to terminate streamyx/phoneline before or after unifi installation?
*
just apply online, you get free 1 month, dont need to terminate first.. termination will be done by them later for you

can be use with normal phone.. its the same..
the dect phone also can be use on normal line..
*
Ok but must the modem or other eq be switched on?

To use the normal phone just unplug the RJ15 from the DECT and plug it into the normal phone ?

But i saw that there were 2 RJ15 wires connected to the base of the DECT phone. what is for what ?

Personally I think its best to walk-in to TM Point to terminate the phone line / Streamyx by yourself instead of getting the installer to do it for you.

I terminated both my phone line and Streamyx account the day after Unifi is installed, and I get an "acknowledgement" slip, and was told whatever billing item will be pro-rated based on the date of termination.

Also, I asked the officer about returning the old TM single line phone, it was mentioned that there will be a penalty of RM60 (deduct from deposit) if it is not returned within ~30 days.

Was told that final bill with outstanding amount (+ or -) will be sent, if there is negative balance (after deducting deposit amount) then a cheque will be mailed to you. If not then just pay the balance.

So, to avoid disappointment and surprise in your bill, best is just DIY smile.gif

Yeah I settle my previous line and streamyx myself, just go to TM Point, fill in the form and pass them the phone. Now waiting for them to send me the bill so that I know how much I need to pay.

Unifi dc last night, could only reconnect after I restart the modem, after everything fine

they will ask u for the password u want to put for your wifi, as for your unifi password itself, they already have it with them. it's generated by TM. Anyway you should have an email from Unifi that have all your ids and passwords

if u dont have email from tm, u better ask them to rite down or copy paste to u.
the password for unifi is very long (up/lowercase, number).

for wifi, usually they use default password key (numerical) under the router.
can be changed if u want by assessing the router.
