Whoaa...expensive stuff. Consider Faridas. Their dreadnaught body guitars are RM 900-1000 and are sold in theguitarstore. I'm using the D-10, love it. Don't know whether theguitarstore has their single cutaways...

You can get tanglewoods and fenders for...about the same price or less I guess. Not too sure.

My church has just bought a black Takaminie G series. The sound is warm and has a nice resonation but I personally think the built is quite poor. You can see the black mirror finish has lots of uneven wood grain lines. The fingerboard edge angle is different on the neck then on the body. The string action is too high on the bridge which I tried to lower it by sanding but the pickup failed to pick up some middle strings afterwards. And also the machine head broke in 2 months. I would recomend takamine for the sound but it should have better string action for a guitar at that price. Just some personal experience..

Gibsons vs Taylors.

I would opt for Gibsons. Taylors are a tad too bright for me.

But u forgot to mention Martins. Those sounds best to my ears.

But that is before I discovered Larrivee. tongue.gif

i have a fender cd60ce, and it's a really good guitar. it comes with a gauge 12 fender strings, but i am a lead guitarist, and to do justice for its cutaway, i replaced it with a gauge 10 fender strings. still doing good (but imho, it sound better and more whole with a higher gauge - i think that's how dreadnoughts work actually). it's almost a year since i bought it, and it still sounds like new.

if you're going for a takamine, i like the G series better (than the D series). or how about an ovation of the same price range? there are decent sub1k ovation guitars out there.

Do you know where can I get the CD-60 or the CD-140s and where did you get urs ?
