On the sub or?
If the sub, maybe the screws loosen, have a check on it first....
If not, wiring could be the problem, a multimeter will be a good tool to check....

....Get a multimeter and measure yor voltage at the :
battery terminal
power cable to the main fuse to your amp(s)
power cable after the main fuse
at the distribution block
at the amp
anything above 0.5V means you have high resistance accross....

by testing the voltage readings at those 5 different locations, the negative lead of the multimeter connect to the nearest ground or all way back to the battery negative terminal for all 5 test?

My bad on not stating clearly on this, first 3 will be at the battery's -ve terminal. While the other 2 will be at the amp's -ve.

pls record ur setting and try it a few day with same setting. if the volume really different with same setting, then u should had check the headunit first.

FYI, most of the time i found is user setting prob...but if you damn sure it's the same setting, then check with ur installer will be the best solution.
