Hi,

I'm thinking of replacing tm's router with the Asus RT-N13U like in rizanrp's guide.

But will I still be able to connect to IPTV?

Thanks in advance for the reply.

Anyone tested which configuration is better? Un-tag the VLAN at modem compared to at router.

Hi Guys,

I just done a step-by-step guide how to configure your Huawei HG655a able to support any router/wireless router.

Please read the guide below and give me some comment.. thanks

Hi Lighter,

Thanks for the guide I managed to get into the home gateway and reconfig the port for my own router. However, upon testing for the STB it didn't work when I directly connect it's LAN cable on LAN1 of the home gateway. I just noticed that during the STB's startup it fails to get an IP addresss (the startup part where we see a yellow progress bar).

Any ideas how it can be fixed?

Thanks again for the guide. Accessing the gateway is a big help.

As for Huawei HG850a, this will not work because TM has firewall(iptables) enabled to block access from local LAN port...

1) Set your local ip to 192.168.1.XXX/24
2) Connect to any local LAN port
3) Power Off/On HG850a
4) Keep refreshing your browser on http://192.168.1.1

you should able to view the web access login page for seconds before firewall is loaded then there goes our webpage/ssh(or was it telnet i forgotten about it)...

Great work guys. Grateful for a solution on the HG850a. Would dearly love to get rid of the 615.

As mentioned in early post, TM may push updates to the modem sometimes and reset all the settings, does it really happen?

I am posting in this thread because I been told by Unifi that I need to replace my router because it may be damage.
Okay my situation is I can make connection to the net with wireless connection constantly. The signal always drop. I am using the same laptop in my office and also connect using wireless Unifi and I don't face any problem.
Please take note, my iPhone connection has no problem. At this point I don't know what is the actual problem.
Here I hope I can get some answers;
1) what other alternative modem+router beside specified by Unifi.
2) with my situation, is my router damage?

Frustration...

Go to http://192.168.0.1 , username: operator password: h566UniFi
Then go advanced, advanced wireless, get the wireless mode to 802.11b/g/n or 802.11n only if all ur device support
And for iphone, change bandwidth 20/40Mhz (auto) to 20Mhz.

click save settings, it should work.. thumbup.gif

If you didn't get the password list during your installation by the TM technicians, call the Unifi support line and ask for it. They will give it to you by email.

Usually BTU/ONT will use 192.168.1.1 (DHCP OFF) and the gateway (dlink white & orange) will be 192.168.0.1

If your client or access point using 192.168.1.xxx you can simply swap the BTU and GATEWAY ip range.

can i just change the BTU/ONT ip add, without change server/gateway ip range?
if the BTU ip can't change, need to do some re-setting office network (some pc using static ip setting)

for this time, from what i search, TM not allow user to login to BTU right?

Not the Admin, but the PPPoE. Anyway i got it from them, is so cryptic. Now I can use my cisco router and switch. Replacing all the TM equipment, except the Fiber BTU.
