This article is more towards Singapore Reits and I'm not a big fan of Reits unless I can buy them cheap cheap but still worth reading....

Today, I got this in my Edge email alert  hmm.gif

CMMT mulls rights issue
KUALA LUMPUR: CapitaMalls Malaysia Trust (CMMT), a unit of Singapore's CapitaLand Ltd, is considering a rights issue to boost its coffers as it seeks to bulk up on more retail assets here.
*
look at the bright side, if we are offered a discount to the current price for the rights issue, why not biggrin.gif , & if the assets aimed will provide good steady returns, another plus.
Only downside is the retailer has to fork out his own $

News today just announce they increasing their assets portfolio with more PKNS buildings.

Would explain the sudden hype increase in the past week.

I heard from a friend that they are concluding the sale of Wisma UEP building by end 2011? Anyone knows?

buy alaqar then. biggrin.gif (hospital reit)
I bought lots of it today, as am looking forward to the next dividend, not so soon though, within this 2 months announcing.
I think the price is quite good, yield around 7.4% now . But if there's good capital gain, I might let go.

Al-aqar going to announce results + divvy soon, may be around 3.3c or more for this final distribution.
Next, will be Arreit's turn , maybe 1.5-1.9c for this quarter.(They announce 4x a year)

from the pattern, it appears today that someone tried to push down the price to accumulate at lower price.

But it's for the better future wo... I heard it's 200million right?
*
though for a better future, money on hand need to put aside first for that purpose, so some investors might not like the idea.

As for CMMT's selldown today, I think the rights issue proposed few months earlier are about to be announced soon. Some parties might not want to fork out more money.

congrats to those who are holding Alaqar.
I believe it's their rerating or better dividend for July
I will hold as I think it is not easy to get below 1.20 already.

although Silverbird defaulted payment from Jan 2012- May 2012, Arreit continues receiving the rent by form of a guarantee deposit locked for 2 years. In the mean time, Arreit can search for a prospective tenant while continue to receive rent for 2 years from Jan 2012.

Added on June 12, 2012, 10:38 amEven if Silverbird didn't default on rental payment but their rental agreement ends on Dec 2013, Arreit will still need to find a prospective tenant irrespective default/non-default. Unless only silverbird agrees to extend the contract.
