No punishment.. but he must prepare a letter reason of absense ( offshore )
it just depends on the judge want to approve or reject the filing.
i attend court for hearing alone, the judge asked me..

1. 2 years of marriage only? - yes
2. ur husband not helping u pay half of the fees? - NO, he dont even bother
3. he pause for awhile and look at the documents.
4. he announce proceed for 3 months cooling period, if no objection then lawyer to file in the final after 3mths period from the date of hearing. - after final file in wait for another 2-3 weeks the divorce cert will email to both parties by lawyer.
