Your EPP will still go on no matter how unless it expires 24 months later.

However, if you wish the transfer the monthly EPP installment amount along with other outstanding amount, I believe it is possible provided that the EPP monthly amount is already shown in the cumulative outstanding.

BT rate/promo varies from bank to bank.

thanks again David83. Good to have you around. You solved my doubts. Thanks so much.

What CC you have on own? Maybe we can summarize the best deal on your hand.

Banks created balance transfer facility because they want to grab your credit card account from other banks..it's one of the most or maybe the most lucrative lending portfolios they must have.

Balance transfer should be ok if you can manage your financial matters diligently..or else it's just like digging a new hole to cover the old one.

The better way is to pay more than the stated min amount each month, or paying off credit card debts should be the highest priority compared to other loans with lower interest.

Direct Access or Public Bank offer 0% for 6 months.

Once you do the BT, my suggestion to you is not to use Credit Cards for any transactions until you are financially more stable as RM4K nowadays is not much and you already have problems to settle this amount.

The question is whether he has DA or PB CC on hand. He didn't actually answer the question thoroughly or maybe he just has one CC from HLB.

Looks like Amex is providing 0% balance transfer for 12 months. Offer valid until April 2011. Very tempting....

http://bit.ly/e4BXQx

Oops it looks like it's a Maybank offer, not just specific to Amex

HSBC is offering 0% BT for 6 months too. Absolutely no upfront fee as well. Deal expires in mid-January 2011. I am however, not sure if this offer is applicable to call HSBC credit card holders or just certain credit card holders only.

Applying CIMB (new card approved) for 0% for 6 months on 2nd Dec. The bank officer is quite busy, she just took my signature and my latest other bank CC statement. I know this is weird, anyone has any experience with CIMB Balance Transfer? How long this is going to take?

My other CC statement due is 10th. Do you think I should pay the minimum payment first, considering today is 3rd? Thank you.

I not yet ask the detail, for CIMB Balance Transfer, is it monthly had to a certain minimum amount? let say RM3000 over 6 months, each months is RM500? I can pay more right, or even pay all earlier right? Thank you.

1) Yes, they do need the other bank CC statement.

2) It should take less than 5 working days to approve. As for the minimum 5% payment on the other card, make sure you make the minimum payment before your due date if CIMB yet to make payment as it will affect your credit records besides paying penalty for late payment.

3) CIMB Balance Transfer account - you only need to pay 5% of the amount due each month. You may pay more if you wish.

Yes, i do not have any other CC except HLB only. So is CIMB a good choice for doing BT and will i be paying more per month after transfer to CIMB from HLB?

Many thanks Gen-X for the advice and comment.
I don't think you are paying more, there are some BT that has no processing fee. Like 3k of retail, the monthly interest I notice is like 50MYR. If you applying new card, the 50MYR for card tax? then you treat it like you installment your old card balance.

Properly you can save some, imagine, you have some money on year end or within 2 months, but the interest is keep on, because you can't pay full on time until the year end.

Correct me if I am wrong. By the way, do settle BT, and try to control not to spend anything on it also and your old card. That's for me. Cheap plastic can really do amazing thing.

I am surprised that MBB rejected my BT application. I thought banks love 'stealing' from other banks? laugh.gif

Does it have anything to do with the fact that I have 2 other 0% interest BT going on with my other cards?
- BT Eonbank to CIMB
- BT Eonbank to PB
- BT CIMB to MBB (failed)

I didn't use my latest statement for the application btw, but I don't think it's because of that.

For BT, you must provide latest bill which is going to due soon in order for the bank to settle the outstanding amount.
