ronnie, see what you have done, CIMB staff will be like blur when they start to receive BT applications from you guys, hahaha
*
OMG !!! There's no harm in applying BT.
When CIMB see alot of requests, maybe they may bring the 6-month 0% BT program back to live

hi all, just want to ask, actually no more 0% BT from CIMB or no more CIMB BT program at all?
because just now i've called CIMB and they said no more BT program ? im confused lol shocking.gif  shocking.gif
*
CIMB only had the 0% 6-month BT program ended on 1 July 2011 to 31 Dec 2011.
As of 1 Jan 2012, no more BT program from CIMB, until further notice.

We refer to your abovementioned request and regret to advise you that after due consideration by the Bank, we are unable to accommodate your request.
I guess CIMB 0% 6-month BT program is not available.

You can do it as long as the amount per account per bank is more than 1k
*
Some banks are smarter to identify the type of account based on the first 8-digit of the CC account.

agree. and some of the banks even mention it's a BT account. e.g. Hong Leong Bank.
*
CIMB names it as "Credit Card Type : NCE TRANSFER"

I called UOB CS on another matter and took the opportunity to enquire about the 0% BT. The CS told me that above offer is for New To Bank BUT the promo expired on 20th Jan 2012.
*
another case of possibly 'mis-informed' CS.
Try to call the number listed and enquire on this one time BT offer.

I cant seem to find this in their website.
How can I apply for this?
*
It's not on the website as it's a marketing ploy to sign-up new UOB Cardholders

for new to bank or existing cards user? application for BSN is a bit difficult, you can't fax or email the form + docs they want to see the original one. You also need to get your employer to certify your pay slips

The title says it all New-To-Bank

ENSURE you have funds to pay your BT...else don't do it.

you can consider to do BT from Hong Leong bank. For example, you apply 10K of BT...then HL will made payment of 10K to your saving/current account.
*
But very sure HLB's Balance Transfer program offers higher interest rate....

HLB can do BT even though you dont have any outstanding balance

Added on February 21, 2012, 11:48 pm

0.50% per mth for 6 mths. still consider ok

Added on February 21, 2012, 11:49 pm

Alliance Bank is 2% per annum, that mean 4% for 24 months.
*
0.5% x 6 = 3% for 6-month BT program (HLB)
But is the interest charged on the 1st month after BT is approved... then effectively higher than 3%

QUOTE(pisang @ Feb 22 2012, 10:36 PM)
the trick is, once u got the HLB BT approved and received the $$. then fast fast transfer HLB BT to another bank, e.g. UOB 6months ,0%. With this method, u can save some interest. This is particular useful for those ppl who want Cash in short term.... and payback full amount when dued.

don't forget to keep some balance in the HLB... early settlement will get panalty of RM100.
*
By keeping some balance in HLB, it will incur interest, right ?

yeah, say .... you keep RM300 in the HLB BT account. The interest charged is very minimal. should be less than RM2 per month.

I rather keep RM1 balance can ah ???
